Yesterday's Halloween parade was the perfect end to the week for our students. The children enjoyed the beautiful weather and their parties that followed. Many thanks to those who were able to come watch the parade, and to our PTA room parents who provided the classroom parties. Our teachers and staff got into the spirit by dressing in costumes, too.
School is closed today for All Saints' Day. Our faculty and staff will participate in their annual Spirituality Day. We have invited the faculty and staff from St. Paul's School to join us. It will be led by Fr. Jim with the help of some parish volunteers as group facilitators.
As we move into November there are several important dates ahead. Mark your calendar!
Winter uniforms begin on Monday, November 4. PK3 + PK4 children should wear their green sweatpants and jacket with their t-shirt. K-8 boys should be in pants (not shorts). Girls should be in jumpers or skorts. The gray OLGC hoodie, green zippered jacket, or hunter green OLGC cardigan are permitted. Spirit wear is not appropriate for regular school days. Winter gym uniforms include green sweatpants and green zippered jackets. Mark your child's jacket because they are sometimes removed in the classroom or the gym. We already have many in the lost & found box.
Student photos will be taken on Tuesday, November 12. Students in grades K-8 wear their standard school uniforms for these photos.
The second trimester closes on Friday, November 15 followed by Parent-Teacher conferences on November 25 and 26. Be sure your conversation with your child's teacher includes more than just talk about grades when you meet. Your child's total development should be discussed.
School will be closed from Wednesday - Friday, November 27 - 29 for Thanksgiving break. Enjoy the time with your family and friends as you give thanks for all your blessings.
The first trimester report cards for grades K-8 will be available in the Genesis Parent Portal on Friday, December 6. If you have any issues with access to your parent account in Genesis contact Mrs. Casey at scasey@olgc.me.
