Winter Break Reminders
Dear Frontier Families,
Thank you for a wonderful first semester. We hope you enjoy the next two weeks with friends and family.
A few things to keep in mind:
The grading deadline was December 6th. Thank you to all who turned in grade reports.
If your student is starting a new class in January, make sure you have an ILP in for the spring semester.
ASD classes begin January 6th.
If you have questions or concerns during Winter Break, email Carli at hook_carli@asdk12.org. We will check email regularly and get back to you as soon as we can.

Free Hearing and Vision Screening
Attention Frontier Charter Families:
Your ASD nursing team offers free vision and hearing screenings annually for both in person and remote students. If you haven't taken advantage of it yet this year and would like your student(s) to participate, please contact me to schedule a day that works best for you: winfree_lanaee@asdk12.org or 907-742-5851. If Ocean View Elementary is not convenient, I can help coordinate with your closest school.

Alaska Performance Scholarship
Did you know that high school students in Alaska have a special scholarship opportunity? The Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) covers a huge amount of the cost to attend college or a trade school in Alaska after high school. There are over 40 options!!

King Tech 3rd Session
Great News!
King Tech High School is offering a 3rd session for students in grades 9 through 12. Starting on Monday, January 13, King Tech will be offering a number of Career and Technical Education courses after school at King Tech High School. The 3rd session will run for 8 weeks, Monday through Thursday, from 4-5:30 pm. Bus transportation will be provided. The courses are worth a .5 elective credit and a letter grade for completing the course. Please see your counselor to register and please visit our website for more details.

Grades 11-12
The Alaska Railroad Tour Guide Training Program application deadline is this Friday, Jan. 10th by 5pm. Class is held at King Tech High School from 4-5:30 pm starting Jan. 21st. Applications can be found on the King Tech Website. Send completed applications to Brumbaugh_Amy@asdk12.org
