It is hard to believe that our Thanksgiving break begins in a week. It has been a busy fall. As a reminder our annual Harvest Feast is Thursday, November 21st starting at 11:25am. See information below to help contribute to the event.
Please come out and support the Nederland theater program this weekend. Fall plays are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 7:00pm.
Harvest Feast Thursday
This annual tradition of teachers and students coming together to give thanks and have a wonderful meal together is happening in 1 week. We are doing a volunteer sign-up for all food this year, rather than having grades bring in food. Asking students to bring in food without some kind of RSVP made donations unreliable and made for a lot of work for our kitchen volunteers. We need a LOT of volunteers to make this a successful day, from donating a dish to preparing and serving the food. This PTA Fundraiser has it all and has reached 33% of it's goal! The score is 11-7 with the High School team starting to give up their advantage as the Middle School has steadily gained ground this week! Who will win the Pizza and Ice Cream social? Registration is officially CLOSED for Middle School Alpine, High School Alpine, High School Nordic, and High School Boys’ & Girls’ Basketball.
Registration is still OPEN for Middle School Nordic and Middle School Girls’ Basketball. These two sports start in January once we come back from Winter Break.
Middle School Boys’ Basketball has a home game this Tuesday 11/19 at 5 pm vs. Summit. Good luck Panthers!
Grades! Students and parents, check your grading portal to ensure you’re tracking your progress. There are 4 weeks left in the semester, now it is the time to address any makeup quizzes or homework. To arrange makeup work, communicate with the instructor. High school students - do you need credit recovery for graduation requirements? See Ms. Jill to sign up for spring semester credit recovery for required high school credits.

Participating Colleges: Western Colorado University, University of Northern Colorado, University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, Metropolitan State University, Front Range Community College, Aims and more. HIgh school students must earn passing credits in at least 3 college courses by graduation, through Front Range Community, or Metro State, or Concurrent CU-(Precalc, Calc, Stats).

Seniors: To be evaluated for financial aid, students and families need to apply for the FAFSA in December. Nederland seniors graders will apply for the 2025-26 FAFSA, because they enter college in FALL of 2025. You can get a sneak preview of the FAFSA prototype here. The actual FAFSA is not open yet.

NMSHS is partnering with the Nederland Community Library (NCL) again this year! Every other Tuesday, the NCL Pop-Up Event will be at NMSHS during MS and HS lunches. Students will be able to browse and check out items from NCL including: books, magazines, DVDs, manga and more!! If your student doesn't have a Ned Library card, no worries! Applications will be available for students to bring home for parents to complete.
