"You Belong in the Boat"

No School Friday, April 18th
- 3rd & 5th grade students will be MStep testing this week and will continue through the end of the month. (Dates listed below) It is very important that your student is in attendance to complete testing. A good nights rest and a healthy breakfast can help your student to be successful.
- The School Bank will be open for deposits tomorrow (4/15). We only have 3 more school bank days for the remainder of the school year.
- Attention 5th Grade parents- Our 5th grade Ukelele Showcase will take place during the 5th grade Row Ahead (graduation) at the end of the school year. They're very excited to showcase their talents!
- Please be sure your child is dressed for outdoor weather, as all students go outside for recess. We still recommend that students bring boots to school for wet/muddy playgrounds. An extra set of clothes can be helpful if your student gets wet at recess.
- If you have reached out to your students teacher to volunteer in the classroom, participate in field trips, or events, a Volunteer Consent Form must be filled out. A new form and background check must be completed each school year. This can be obtained from the office. A copy of your state-issued driver's license is required to process all volunteer applications. Print the volunteer form here: Volunteer Form
- If your student is absent, please call the office attendance line, (231) 937-4380, press 1. Absences must be reported to the office within 24 hours for it to be excused. A reason for the students absence must be stated or it will be considered unexcused. If you know ahead of time that your student will be absent, a planned absence form can be filled out and submitted to the office. Print a TCE planned absence form here: TCE Planned Absence Form
- View our Attendance Policy/Process: Attendance Matters
End of the Day Changes
Any changes to how your student is going home for the day needs to be received by the office no later than 2:45pm. After this time, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to get end-of-the-day notifications to your student. As you can imagine, the end of the school day can be very busy in the office. For this reason, we discourage early pickups after 3:00pm. In the case of an emergency, please call the office to prearrange a pickup time- 231-937-4830
Spirit Week
Dressing for the Weather🌞
Student Dress Code
As temperatures warm up this Spring, please be mindful of the student dress code. Should your child choose to wear shorts, they need to be long enough so that they come down to the child's fingertips when their arms are held down at their sides. We do not encourage students to wear sandals/flip flops to school. (they often break) If your child chooses to wear this type of footwear, please make sure he/she has a pair of covered shoes (athletic, etc.) to change into for recess/gym class.
Specials at TCE

The theme this week for Super K is Bunny Rabbits! Students will hear the story of Peter Rabbit and act it out. They will also hop like bunnies and create bunny art using chalk pastels.
