Principal's Message
Westmoor Community,
Our students and staff are recognizing how “busy” the campus is feeling as we’ve completed the first half of the First Quarter. Add to this the hot weather and we have and environment that is both fun and exciting.
Sports continue with spirited support from parents and students. I should point out the success of the 43rd Annual Westmoor Ram Invitational Cross Country Meet. Hundreds of spectators met with what makes our Westmoor community special: hospitality and care from our students and staff who attended. I was pulled aside by a visiting coach and one of her parents who complimented the Westmoor experience; something they’d both shared each time they had attended this event. Made me proud of what we do and how we get it done.
In community news, you may have seen us recently in one of the booths at the Fog Fest or at Brisbane’s Day in the Park. In each case, Jefferson Union High School District was able to show off its schools in profound ways. I was particularly thrilled with how our students supported the effort, showing those interested in our work here, just how powerful our work in the classroom can inspire participation in the real world in ways that truly make a difference for others. Again, made me proud. And this kind of impact that we make together should remind us of what we’re continually achieving together.
Have a great week.
Best regards,
Dr. Michael McAlister
Principal

As we wrapped up Banned Book Week, we'd like to share with our Westmoor Ramily that it is illegal to Ban Books in the State of California due to a law passed in 2023 by Governor Newsom.
In October, we are looking forward to a visit from Ms. Sarah from DCPL since unfortunately her September visits were unable to happen due to unforeseen circumstances.
As we move towards mid-October, we will be looking at books where the truth may be stranger than fiction as we examine our non-fiction collection.
Be sure to have your student listen to the bulletin for non-fiction book recommendations.
DCPL is having another teen crafting event in late October. Stay tuned for more details!
