Dear Fuller Families,

I hope everyone stayed warm during our two snow days and had a little fun building snowmen and sledding! It’s not something we get to do every year here in Texas, so I hope it was a memorable experience for your family.

As we head back into our routine, I want to share some exciting updates and events happening at Fuller Elementary:

• PTO Meeting: Join us on Tuesday, January 14th, at 5:30 PM in the Fuller library for our monthly PTO meeting.
  
  
• Aubrey ISD Board Meeting: Scheduled for Wednesday, January 15th, at 6:30 PM at the Aubrey ISD administration building.
  
  

This week, we’ll also celebrate the birthdays of several amazing staff members: Ms. Ryan, Mrs. Peet, Mrs. Salazar, Mrs. Nolting, and Mrs. Taylor. Happy Birthday to these incredible educators!

Looking ahead, mark your calendars for two very exciting events:

1. Fuller Family Literacy Night: On January 30th, we’ll kick off our first-ever Read-a-thon Fundraiser. Funds raised will go toward science supplies, enriching student experiences, and adding a couple of Cruiser stationary reading bikes for our students to enjoy.
   
   
2. Fuller Family STEAM Night & Science Symposium: On February 20th, we’ll host our inaugural STEAM Night, along with a Science Symposium where students can showcase their work in a science fair-like experience. Please see the flyer below for important information and deadlines.

Fuller Elementary BETA club (similar to a National Honor Society but with service as an important component) is preparing to compete in the state convention in February. Our students are working very hard and looking forward to this new adventure. Some of our students have also already qualified for the national convention in Florida. We are hoping to ease the expense cost on our parents by recruiting small business sponsorships. Please consider helping our community's young scholars expand their academic horizons. Please contact the email(s) at the bottom of the flyer if you are interested. Feel free to reach out to local businesses and friends that may be willing to help out. Thank you!!

• Anyone entering the building MUST be prepared to show ID BEFORE entering
• IDs or car tags will be checked at dismissal for car and walk ups.
• Please label all jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles.
• Transportation changes must be sent to FESTransportation@aubreyisd.net by 2PM daily.
• No student checkouts after 2:30PM.
• Instruction begins at 7:40 (students MUST be in seats by then)
• School day ends at 3:15

Parents may pay for school lunches online by accessing the myschoolbucks.com tab located on the Aubrey ISD website. Applications for meal benefits may be returned to the campus office.

Good attendance is important for many reasons. Your child receives the maximum benefit of education by being in school every day, and numerous studies show a strong link between academic performance and consistent attendance.

A compulsory attendance notification will be sent to the parent if a student has unexcused absences on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six-month period or three days or parts of days during a four-week period. Notice it says “parts of days.” This means that leaving school early, or arriving excessively late in the day, even if the child attended for some of the day, may count as an absence.

In the state of Texas, Pre-K is not required, however, once you enroll your student in school, all attendance laws apply.
