Elizabethtown Area High School is proud to announce that it will be hosting a special Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, November 11, 2024, to honor the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Veterans Day is a time to express our gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices made by our veterans. It is an occasion to reflect upon the dedication and commitment of those who have served and continue to serve our country, protecting our freedom and way of life.
Event Details:
- Date: November 11, 2024
- Time: 10:15 a.m.
- Location: Elizabethtown Area High School Auditorium
Highlights of the ceremony are as follows:
- Presentation of Colors by the high school’s Navy National Defense Cadet Corps Color Guard
- National Anthem performance by the Elizabethtown Area High School marching band
- Student readings and reflections on Veterans Day
- Guest speaker Dr. Karen Nell, superintendent of schools
- Official Veterans Day Proclamation from Elizabethtown Mayor Chuck Mummert
- Recognition of local veterans
We invite all veterans and their families to join us in this special event. It is an opportunity for our students to learn about the significance of Veterans Day and for the community to show their support and appreciation for those who have served in the military.
If you are a veteran planning to attend the ceremony, please RSVP by to ensure that we can make appropriate arrangements. You can RSVP by visiting the District website at www.etownschools.org and completing the online registration form by Wednesday, November 6. Highlights from last week
- We had another another successful Blood Drive this year. Thank you to the staff and students who participated in this school wide, altruistic event!
- Many of our classes were able see mock town hall debates this week. The student candidates were phenomenal and the student town hall questions were on point. A true authentic civic experience for our school!
- We held our November First Friday - students could choose to watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving to kick off the month

- Attention fall athletes. Please use the link to complete an end of season survey - 2024 Fall Student Athlete Survey
- For all wrestlers, junior high and high school, boys and girls, wrestling weight certs will be after school on Tuesday and Thursdays with the following dates: Oct. 29, Oct. 31, Nov. 5, Nov. 7, Nov. 12, and Nov. 14. - Athletes: Registration is now open. If you are planning to participate in a Winter sport-sign up NOW! All registrations are due no later than 11/8. Try Outs begin on 11/15/24.
- Athletes - AD office checks athletic eligibility each week. Don't forget to make sure your grades are accurate.
CTC Applications are now OPEN
CTC Applications are open (as of Nov 1st) and counselors are ready to help you apply!
Feel free to sign up for a Help Session to complete your CTC application. Please be sure to come prepared with your charged Chromebook! Please use THIS LINK to sign up for one of the help sessions.
Dual Enrollment meeting
Monday Nov. 4th at 7:50am in the LGI for all students who plan to take a dual enrollment course this spring. General information about dual enrollment and specific information about registration for college courses will be shared. Please also review the dual enrollment webpage.
Community Service Opportunity
Students who have SOC or Study hall over 4th block could earn community service hours by helping to tutor in the middle school. The Homework Helper program is looking for upperclassmen who don't have a 4th block class and can help on Wednesdays and Thursdays during that time. If you are interested, please email Mrs. Gillette.
Class of 2027 Fundraiser Update
10th Grade Shady Maple Baked Good orders are due this Tuesday November 5th.
- Orders and payment should be turned into Mrs. Raudenbush in the IMC.
- Please make one check payable to EAHS Class of 2027.
- Please note the order pick up day is Monday November 25th from 3:00-5:00pm in the HS Bus Lobby. This is a no school day for students.
