While menus are subject to change on occasion, this is your best resource to check and help your students plan for each day. Make sure on the left hand side at the top, you are selecting breakfast or lunch (whichever one you are seeking) and on the right top that you use the drop down list to select Longfellow Elementary as daily menus can vary from school to school. Bon Appetit!

Reminder About Prescription and Non-prescription Medication
This is a reminder that all* student medications, whether prescription or over-the-counter, must be checked in to the office and must have completed accompanying paperwork. Medications are to be turned in to the office by a PARENT (please do not send it with your child) and should be in the original packaging/ prescription bottle with label. If you are needing to split a prescriptions between home/school ask your pharmacist and in most cases they can provide two bottles with proper labeling.
Trained School Staff/ School Nurses cannot administer medications without completed paperwork. This paperwork must be submitted annually and resubmitted if there is a change of medication or dosage and/or a discontinuation. The medication policy is in the student handbook on pages 13-14
Emergency Care Plans and Specialized Medical Condition Forms are also available at the link below. We need your cooperation to help make everyone safe and healthy while at school.
*There are some rare medical instances that require a student to carry a medication with them and there is a separate form for that also at the link below.
A Word About Phones & Watches, etc. in School
We need your help! Last year we had a large spike in the number of times parents called us or stopped by saying they were going to pick up their child due to them being sick. However, we had no knowledge of it because they didn’t come to the office and instead used their phone or watch to notify parents. The school does have guidelines for how we assess illnesses and when a student needs to be sent home. These can be seen in the student handbook on page. 13 and in the appendix beginning on page 23. The Cell Phone and Other Electronic Devices Policy can be read on pages 7-8.
Please remind your child that they should not be using their cell phones or watches during the school day. If we see them using it, they will get it taken away for the day. We have no problem with them sending you a text when they arrive at school or leave school for the day. However, we just can’t have them used during the day.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter!
