Care of Chromebooks, grade 5-8
Students are responsible to care for his or her assigned Chromebook. We have already had a few cracked screens. Students are responsible for any damage to their device. Please help monitor at home.
We talk to the students about the following:
- Handling: Use two hands to carry the Chromebook, and never carry it by the screen. Keep the screen closed when carrying it.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth or antistatic cloth to clean the screen. Avoid using Windex or similar products that contain ammonia or bleach.
- Charging: Charge the Chromebook every night.
- Storing: Store the Chromebook in the SHCS cinch sak when not in use and do not store anything else in the bag besides charging cord and ear buds.
- Opening and closing: Open and close the Chromebook on a flat surface. When closing, make sure the keyboard is clear and close the screen gently with both hands.
- Using: Don't leave food or drinks near the Chromebook. Don't use the Chromebook on soft surfaces or laps. Don't use the Chromebook with the power cord plugged in if it could be a tripping hazard.
- Other: Don't loan the Chromebook to anyone else. Don't try to fix it yourself if it breaks. Tell your teacher right away if it breaks.

Volunteer Requirement
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Our requirement at Sacred Heart Catholic School is that all parent(s)/guardians volunteer 20 hours per family. To manage our volunteer hours, we use a volunteer website, called SignUp. Parents may sign up for a wide variety of activities that occur during the school day, evenings, or weekends. Events are posted on a monthly basis so please periodically check the site.
To view the list of volunteer opportunities, please go "Quick Links" located on our school web page
http://www.sacredheartschoolrobbinsdale.org and click on the Volunteer SignUp. You will be connected to the volunteer opportunities for upcoming events. Opportunities will be updated often.
Volunteers are such an important and valued part of our Sacred Heart Catholic School Community. We have many programs and events that are extremely successful based solely on the excellent work of our dedicated volunteers. There are many opportunities throughout our school year for our parents and guardians to choose from. Volunteering is also a great way to meet families in our SHCS community.
2024 Marathon -Saturday, October 5 Our school goal: $45,000 at Sanborn Park 9:15 a.m.
We have met 1/3 of our marathon goal collecting $15,600 so far. Please continue with your fundraising efforts. We appreciate the pledges that have been turned in so far.
Our goal is for EVERY student to bring in the required $300 fundraising goal for the Marathon. The Marathon is also a celebration and a chance for people to come together. We have fun walking, running or biking. All funds remain here at Sacred Heart and they are used to offset the rising costs of providing a quality education. So if you are asked, “Where does the money go?” It truly goes to support every part of our mission.
Please sign up for PledgeStar to secure online donations for our 2024 Marathon. You may still collect cash/checks and we will enter them to your family PledgeStar web page so you can track your total.

Parents, Grandparents and former Coaches!
Sacred Heart is in need of coaches for girls basketball, softball and baseball.
Positions are volunteer and can be used towards your family volunteer hours. Not to mention forming long, lasting relationships with Sacred Heart parents and students!
The girls’ basketball season runs from the beginning of January into the 2nd week of March.
Softball and baseball run concurrently from the beginning of April until the end of May.
Grades 5-8 can participate so this is an excellent opportunity for someone with a child in those grades to be responsible for building their athletic confidence!

Need help paying for tuition?
MN Fundraising Initiative (MNFI) secures contracts with over 23 venues in the greater Twin Cities area including Target Field, Target Center, Canterbury, and US Bank to operate food and beverage concessions stands at their events.
MNFI organizes teams of volunteers from all over the state of MN and WI who work together to run these stands. In turn, MNFI receives donations from these venues. The donations are then used to award grants to families in local communities to allow youth to attend private school, such as Sacred Heart Catholic School and participate in enrichment activities they may not otherwise be able to enjoy. Checks are mailed directly to Sacred Heart in your name.
Many of our school families use this organization to help pay for tuition.
Click on the website and create an account by clicking on the “Volunteer registration”.
