Junior Planning Meetings
It is hard to believe that in seven (7) short months, your child will be a senior! It is very important that your child create a realistic post-secondary plan as time goes by quickly. Mrs. Plummer would like to invite all juniors and their parents/guardians to schedule a Junior Planning Meeting. The meetings are scheduled for 45 minutes in person. If we start this process early, I can assure you that your child’s stress level will be minimized during their senior year. Please use the link below to schedule your appointment. I can also be reached at splummer@blmfld.org or at 860-286-2636 ext. 1011 to coordinate a meeting time.

Preparing For Cold and Flu Season
As we enter cold and flu season, Bloomfield Public School Nurses offer the following tips to keep your student and our schools healthy.
- Please make sure your student gets a good night's sleep. It is recommended that preschool aged children should have 10-13 hours of sleep, children aged 6-12 years should get 9-12 hours of sleep per night and teens should sleep 8-10 hours per night.
- A healthy diet is crucial for maintaining good health. Encourage your student to make nutritious food choices and limit their intake of processed foods and sugary drinks.
- Encourage your student to practice good hygiene habits, such as washing their hands regularly with soap and water, covering their mouths and noses when coughing or sneezing and to avoid sharing personal items such as combs, brushes and water bottles.
- Please keep your student home from school if he/she has:
-A temperature above 100 F during previous 24 hours (should be fever free without use of medication for 24 hours before returning to school)
-Vomiting or diarrhea during the prior 24 hours
-Yellow or green nasal drainage associated with sore throat, nausea or fatigue
-A persistent cough which has kept your child up at night
-Signs or symptoms of Influenza, such as body aches, chills, headache, fatigue
-A student who is seen by a physician and started on antibiotics for a bacterial infection should stay out of school for 24 hours after treatment has begun. - Make sure your student is up-to-date on vaccinations. Talk to your student's health care provider about influenza and COVID vaccines.
- School nurses want to keep our students safe, healthy and able to learn. Please feel free to reach out to your student's school nurse with any health care concerns.
