Week of May 5th
Message from Principal Drew...
We have only 14 days left until final exams begin. Students make sure you are preparing now for your final exams. Review key vocabulary terms each night, develop better sleep patterns by going to bed at the same time each night, eat breakfast each day, and most importantly be an active learner in your classes over the next three weeks. You are in the final stretch and now is the time to go all in to be successful in your classes.
The exam schedule will be as follows: Friday 5/23 - 4th Period Exams, Tuesday 5/27 - 3rd Period exams, Wednesday 5/28 - 2nd Period Exams, Thursday 5/29 - 1st Period Exams. Each exam session will begin at 8:05. Students should bring a fully charged Chromebook to their testing site when they arrive each day so they can be logged into their exam prior to 8:05. No one will be allowed to leave a testing session until the session is complete so students should work hard and utilize the time allotted for each session to perform their best. Tutoring is available for students wishing to be better prepared for their exams through either their teacher or through the NCVPS Edvantage system which is available for free to all PCHS students. Please let us know if you would like tutoring and are having any difficulty getting it arranged.
Congratulations to our band who placed first among all high school bands at their competition at Busch Gardens on Friday. You can hear the band perform this Thursday night in their Spring concert at 6:30 PM.
Fall Cheer leading tryouts will be held this week on May 6 (cafeteria), May 7 (cafeteria) and May 8 (gym) at PCHS. The tryouts will begin at 3:30 and end at 5:00 each day. Any student that will be attending PCHS next Fall is able to tryout. Students must have a current physical and all rank one paperwork completed before tryouts to participate.
It is staff appreciation week at PCHS. We have a good week planned for our amazing staff. Feel free to drop them a note of appreciation or thanks as well. I am blessed and thankful to work each day alongside so many wonderful people who make PCHS the best it can be.
