Women’s History Month celebrates, recognizes, and honors the vital contributions and accomplishments of women throughout history during March.
This month-long observance highlights the achievements of women in various fields, shedding light on their roles in shaping societies worldwide. It serves as a platform to acknowledge the progress made in advancing women’s rights and gender equality, while also emphasizing the work that still needs to be done. Women’s History Month encourages reflection on the trailblazing individuals who have broken barriers, inspiring future generations to continue the pursuit of equality and empowerment for women everywhere.
Elementary and Middle School Early Release - March 6 & 7
Seckinger will have delayed dismissals on Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7 due to K-8 Early Release and transportation.
What are your plans for 8th block? Come see The Advanced Theatre Class perform scripted and original Sketch Comedy Scenes! Tickets on sale during lunch 3/5 and 3/7 for $2.00 on GoFan ONLY (no cash!) You must be in good standing to attend.

Seckinger is Recognized as an AP Honor School
Seckinger has qualified and is recognized as an AP Honor School by the GaDOE. We achieved honor distinction in 5 areas. Advanced Placement courses require hard work by both the teachers and students, the AP Honor Award recognizes this commitment. Congratulations Jaguars! Please see the areas we are recognized for below:
- AP Humanities Schools
- Schools with at least five exams administered in each of the following AP categories: one ELA course, two social studies courses, one fine arts course, and one world language course and a minimum of 25 total exams administered.
- AP Humanities Achievement Schools
- AP Humanities schools (see above definition) with at least 50% of all AP Humanities exams earning scores of 3 or higher.
- AP Schools of Distinction
- Schools with at least 20% of the total student population taking AP exams and at least 50% of all AP exams earning scores of 3 or higher.
- AP STEM Schools
- Schools with a minimum of five students testing in at least four AP STEM courses, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles, and a minimum of 25 exams administered.
- AP STEM Achievement Schools
- AP STEM schools (see above definition) with at least 50% of all AP STEM exams earning scores of 3 or higher.

Free & Reduced Price Meals
Previously Posted
Parents of students enrolled in the Free and Reduced Meal Program must reapply for the program each school year. Applications for the 2023-2024 school year are still available on the Gwinnett County Public Schools website. You may change the language of the application in the upper right corner. Students who qualify for Free and Reduced Meals often qualify for reduced fees for AP testing, ACT testing, SAT testing, and college applications.
We encourage parents of all eligible students to apply as soon as possible.
Scholastic Images will be on Campus!
Scholastic Images will be on campus at Seckinger Tuesday, 03/05 during lunch, so don’t miss out on placing your orders for:
- Letter Jacket Orders for any student who has earned a letter!
- Bring proof that you earned your letter (actual award letter or certificate) and a $100 deposit to get the order started!
- CURRENT SENIORS MUST PAY IN FULL FOR THEIR LETTER JACKET AT TIME OF PURCHASE
- We’ll custom size you and walk you through the rest!
Seckinger's Driver Education Program is now open and accepting registration. Visit the Driver's Education Program page located on the Seckinger website by clicking below. Reflections County Winners
The theme for this year's Reflections Competition is "I am Hopeful Because...". Students created entries in Visual Arts, Photography, Dance, Film, Literature, and Music. Please congratulate the following students for winning at the County Level! These entries have advanced to the State Level. SKG swept the Visual Arts category in the County!

Congratulations to our students who earned awards at the Gwinnett Regional Science and Engineering Fair last week!
Juniors - Class of 2025
SECKINGER CLASS OF 2025 – NOW is the time to order your Official SHS Senior Jersey at www.scholasticimages.com or on campus on Tuesday, 3/5 during all lunches for it to be delivered in May before you take your senior pictures over the summer!
The online order form is ONLY open until Sunday, March 10th at 11:59PM and then will not re-open until next year, so don’t miss out on the tradition of wearing it your senior year with your class!
These are NOT just another senior shirt; they are a durable fraternity/sorority style jersey with custom twill sewn on the front and back to show off your school pride, your senior pride, and your last name!

Be sure to complete your 2024-2025 FAFSA Application. The 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available as part of their soft launch. Click the link below to access the form. FAFSA is closely monitoring their site performance and form functionality.

The 2024-2025 Dual Enrollment funding application is available effective Feb. 1. The application is located at GAfutures.org. If you are interested in dual enrollment next school year, be sure that you submit the correct application. If you submitted prior to Feb. 1, you will need to resubmit. Email your counselor if you have any questions.
SKG Athletics, Arts, & Club Activities
Athletic Events
- Only Seckinger HS students and opposing HS students will be permitted in games without a parent. High School IDs will be checked.
- Students must leave school on game day and can return thirty minutes before the start.
- All games are available for purchase online. Visit the GoFan website here: https://gofan.co/
- All elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult at all sporting events.

Jag Jog
Mark our calendars! SKG's Cross Country and Track and Field Teams will be hosting our 2nd Annual Jag Jog. The Jag Jog starts and finishes on the brand new track at Jaguar Stadium with the course winding through the campus and on the streets near the school. Jump in on the Jag Jog at Seckinger High School in Buford. It will be a fun morning of music, door prizes, snacks, awards and the Jog! Trophies given to the top overall male and female as well as Masters Male and Masters Female and Grand Master Male and Female. Medals given to the top three in male and female five year increment age groups from 10 and under all the way to 75 and up. Proceeds from this event benefit Seckinger High School Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
