Collins Hill HS - March, 2025
Monthly Newsletter

March, 2025 -- A Message from Principal Augmon:
Collins Hill Families,
February was a fabulous month! Our Special Olympics Volleyball team placed 2nd in their tournament this month, and our Girls and Boys Basketball teams both qualified for the State Playoffs. We were thrilled to induct 51 new members into the Collins Hill National Honor Society on February 26th. As you can see, great things are happening on The Hill, and we don’t want your student(s) to miss out! I cannot stress enough the importance of daily attendance as well as arriving to school and each class on time. Please partner with us in reminding your student(s) about their attendance.
Finally, I would like to spotlight a former Eagle that continues to soar to new heights. Collins Hill graduate Robby Ainsworth is an Assembly, Integration, and Test Engineer who is working on Blue Ghost Mission 1 that is set to land on the moon on March 2!

As always, I can’t wait to see what our students accomplish next month.
Go Eagles!

Educational Effectiveness Survey (EES)
(If 10+ families from a homeroom complete the survey that class wins donuts!)
Each year, GCPS collects feedback from our families about their children's school as part of our commitment to improvement. The Educational Effectiveness Surveys (EES) for Families allows families to provide feedback on nine characteristics of high-performing schools. Those characteristics are:
- A clear and shared focus
- High standards and expectations for all students
- Effective school leadership
- Strong communication and opportunities to work together
- What we teach, how we teach, and how learning is aligned with state standards
- Frequent monitoring of learning and teaching
- Focused professional development
- Supportive learning environment
- High levels of family and community involvement
In addition, the survey asks about two other areas associated with high-performing schools, district support for improvement, and respect for diverse cultures and backgrounds.
As a parent or caregiver, you should take one EES Family Survey for each school in which you have a child enrolled. As an employee, if you also have a child in GCPS, you should take the EES Staff Survey in addition to the Family Survey.
The survey will be available for you to complete through Friday, March 7. We hope you will lend your voice to making Gwinnett County Public Schools the best it can be for our students.
Please use this link to access the Family Survey.

Core Course Requests
Your student's core course requests are now available to you in ParentVUE. Once you log into ParentVUE, navigate to Course Requests, where you can see the courses and levels for which your student has been recommended. These are only your student's Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies course recommendations.
Your student will have the opportunity to sign up for electives during Eagle Time all next week. If they do not choose their electives during Eagle Time, the school will have to place them in electives. Schedules will be locked on May 31st, 2025.
To see a complete list of electives offered and brief descriptions at Collins Hill, please click this link: Courses and Departments
If you have a concern or would like to request a level change for a core class (Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies), please fill out the form below as soon as possible. Courses are locked in place on May 31st, 2025, but to ensure your student's courses and level placements are correct, the earlier we receive the information, the earlier we can work with you to resolve the issue.
Thank you again for your partnership throughout the whole scheduling process!
AP Classes
If your student has been recommended for an AP Class next year, please see the communication below that was sent out via ParentSquare.
Greetings!
Your student was recommended to take an AP course next school year.
Prior to your student being enrolled in the AP class we must have a signed AP Contract on file.
If we do not have a signed AP contract on file by Friday, March 7th, your student will not be registered for any AP class for the 2025-26 school year.
Only ONE AP Contract is needed for students taking multiple AP classes.
The file is linked here and loaded onto your ParentSquare under attachments, and the form to answer "Yes" or "No" is here, too. Please reference the image below if you have any questions. We look forward to providing your student with high-quality AP instruction next year!
