Awards🏆
Pyramid of Success
Each month Adams Elementary has focused on a piece of the Pyramid of Success. The final block on the Pyramid is giving your personal best. “You have achieved the highest kind of SUCCESS when you have made the effort – 100% - to do the best you can do. You and only you determine whether you achieve SUCCESS: Peace of mind knowing you made the effort – 100% - to do the best you can do!” Adams Elementary would like to highlight those students who have exemplified giving their Personal Best within their classrooms this month.
Adams Elementary is proud to recognize the remarkable achievement of one of our All-Stars who has collectively read an astounding 500,000 words through the Accelerated Reader program! This incredible milestone demonstrates his exceptional dedication to reading and learning. Francisco has shown a deep commitment to expanding his knowledge and vocabulary through reading, and his achievement serves as an inspiration to his peers and the entire school community. His hard work, persistence, and love for reading have truly paid off, and we are thrilled to celebrate his success. We commend Francisco for his remarkable accomplishment and encourage him to continue their reading journey. His achievement highlights the importance of literacy and the joy that reading can bring. Congratulations to Francisco on this amazing milestone!
Reading Awards
We are excited to celebrate the achievement of the following 3rd and 4th graders who successfully met their Accelerated Reader (AR) goals! At our school, we strongly encourage every student to engage in independent reading by utilizing the AR system. This computer program is designed to assist educators in managing and monitoring children's independent reading practices.
Here's how it works: Each child selects a book at their own independent reading level and reads at their individual pace. Once they've completed the book, your child can take a short quiz on the computer to assess their understanding.
We believe that fostering a love for reading is essential for academic success, and the AR program is a valuable tool in helping students reach their reading goals. Congratulations to these dedicated 3rd and 4th graders, and we encourage all students to continue exploring the world of books and testing through the AR system to achieve their personal reading milestones."
Students who have mastered their multiplication tables in 3rd grade
Congratulations to our third-grade students for mastering their multiplication tables! By mastering multiplication, they have built a strong foundation for future mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills. This accomplishment reflects their commitment to learning and sets a positive example for their peers. This accomplishment reflects their commitment to learning and sets a positive example for their peers. Your hard work and determination are paving the way for future success in math and beyond. Keep up the fantastic effort!
Best Attendance
GGreat news! Last week, Ms. Gealer’s and Miss. Bonthius’ classes had the best attendance. A round of applause for their AMAZING work! Ms. Gealer's and Mrs. Bonthius’ classes achieved an outstanding 100% attendance, surpassing our school-wide goal of 94% attendance each day at Adams Elementary.
Maintaining high attendance is crucial for creating an environment conducive to learning. As a reminder, our school has set a goal of 94% attendance every day this year. It's heartening to see Ms. Gealer's and Mrs. Bonthius’ classes leading by example.
We want to emphasize the importance of consistent attendance for all students. Absences exceeding 10% of the school year classify a student as chronically truant, and we are committed to supporting each student in reaching their full potential by ensuring regular attendance.
As a quick reminder, parents have three days to clear absences through the Adams Elementary Office. After three days, uncleared absences will become unexcused/truancies.
Congratulations again to Ms. Gealer's and Mrs. Bonthius’ classes, and let's continue working together to foster a culture of consistent attendance and a love for learning at Adams Elementary!
This Week at Adams
Today, we celebrated our incredible Adams Elementary All-Stars who demonstrated outstanding effort and determination during the SBAC testing! Throughout the testing period, students earned raffle tickets by taking their time, crafting thorough responses using Thinking Maps, and utilizing scratch paper to enhance their work.
The anticipation culminated in today's exciting raffle draw, where students won fantastic prizes, including a brand-new bike, tickets to Knott's Berry Farm, and pizza parties with friends. We couldn't be prouder of our students for their dedication and hard work.
Congratulations to all our prize winners and to every student who gave their best during the SBAC tests. Your perseverance and commitment truly shine and make Adams Elementary a place of excellence. Keep up the great work, All-Stars!

Attendance
Did you know? Research shows that chronically absent students (students with 10% absences over the school year = 18 absences) are less likely to read on grade level by 3rd grade, are more likely to score lower on standardized tests, get suspended in middle school, and are at least four times more likely to not complete high school.
