PRAYER
“In the face of so many wounds that hurt us and could harden our hearts, we are called to dive into the sea of prayer, which is the sea of God’s boundless love, to taste his tenderness. Lent is a time of prayer, of more intense prayer, more prolonged, more assiduous, more able to take on the needs of the brethren, intercessory prayer, to intercede before God for the many situations of poverty and suffering.” – Homily,
“In the poor and outcast we see Christ’s face; by loving and helping the poor, we love and serve Christ. Our efforts are also directed to ending violations of human dignity, discrimination and abuse in the world, for these are so often the cause of destitution. When power, luxury and money become idols, they take priority over the need for a fair distribution of wealth. Our consciences thus need to be converted to justice, equality, simplicity and sharing.” – Lenten Message, 2014 (Kevin Kotter – focus.org)
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Yesterday we celebrated Ash Wednesday by attending the Ash Wednesday Mass. I was so proud of our students who read, altar served and collected money. I look forward to our school masses. It is a real calming effect before we start our daily routine.
As we begin Lent, it is that time where we can reflect upon our relationships with each other and make amends to people where we may not be in good communion with them. Lent is also a time where we can spend time before the Blessed Sacrament at our church from 9am to midday. There may be time in your day to spend 30 mins in prayer.
Tuition Update – Good News – No Increase
At our Finance Committee meeting on Tuesday night the committee reviewed our school finances and the proposed budget from administration. The school can maintain the current tuition for the next school year. We are all aware how difficult it has been for families to send their children to catholic school and the sacrifices made by many families to do so. The school is in a situation where the current tuition can remain the same. The school board approved this proposal at its meeting also.
So, I am the bearer of good news especially in this economy where everything is increasing in cost all around us.
Cafeteria Update
I spent time reflecting and reviewing the cafeteria finances and worked on a few scenarios so that we could continue with our cafeteria free and reduced program. We are one of a few schools who still provides such services. With some fiscal juggling, we will continue with the current lunch program and the school finance council and new principal can monitor it for the next school year. We will need to increase the price per meal from $6.00 to $6.75.
2023-2024 Registration
All families will need to re-register their child/children for the next school starting Wednesday, March 1st .
The Re-Enrollment/Registration link will go live at 12:00pm. This process is completed online through your SchoolSpeak account only. During this time, you will be asked to update your family and emergency details. It is extremely important that you review these sections along with the medical alerts section. Administration needs all this information in order to provide it to our staff in case of any emergencies. if you have any enquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Cierra at info@ssfallsoulsschool.org
Current Finances
I wish to remind everyone that all finances need to be up to date by the end of this trimester, Tuesday, March 7th. If there are any issues, please contact Ms. Escobar at bookkeeper@ssfallsoulsschool.org
Mobile Serve – Tracking Volunteer Hours
As part of the Participation plan, families need to complete 40 hours of service. You will need to check your hours prior to reregistration and if you are not going to meet those hours then you will need to choose the Non-Participation rate for tuition. It is important that all families honor this commitment. Thanks to all those families making the hours.
School Family Mass
Our next School Family Mass is on Sunday, March 5th at 10:30am. We look forward to seeing as many of you at this Mass.
God Bless and Stay Safe,
Vincent Riener
Principal

Cafeteria Payments
Dear All Souls Families,
You can now pay and add credit to your child/children's cafeteria account through SchoolSpeak. Your payment will be processed through PayPal with a 3% convenience fee for all transactions.
Sign-in to your SchoolSpeak account and select "Lunch Order" in the quick links menu on the left. The "Pay" tab will direct you to your payment options. You may pay the cafeteria balance through your existing PayPal account or as a guest using your credit or debit card. You may also add credit to your child/children's cafeteria account. If you wish, you may still make cash or check payments to the school office.
Please note, for the families that have a credit card on file I will no longer be charging your credit card for lunch payments. You are responsible for paying and adding credit to your cafeteria account.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
Regards,
Ms. Escobar
