Great job parents!!!
We made it through the first week of school. Your kiddos have been AMAZING. They are off to a GREAT start. They are following directions well and learning lots already. Next week, they will begin to take the iReady screener. This gives teachers lots of important information on ways we can best support student learning. You can find out more information about how your students are doing and what they are learning by attending our curriculum night. Curriculum Night is on August 22nd and starts at 6:00 PM. Shortly before Curriculum Night, we will have our very first PTA meeting. You can find out how to support the school and sign up to be part of the PTA or local school council. The PTA meeting starts at 5:00 PM.
I am also excited because the traffic appears to be doing MUCH better!!! Remember to keep us updated on any transportation changes by emailing RosebudTransportation@gcpsk12.org.
Also, please make sure you sign up for a MyPaymentsPlus account and download the ParentSquare app. These tools will help you fill out any documents needed and pay for lunch, trips, etc.
The weather is really hot, I encourage you to allow your child to bring a water bottle so they can refresh themselves after recess. Additionally, remind your kiddos to keep up with their jackets during recess. We will have 4 times per year where we clean out our lost and found (once at the end of each semester). You are more than welcome to look through our lost and found if your child leaves their jacket. We are also working to make sure we remind students to bring their jackets inside.
You will hear lots from me this year and I am so excited to get to know each of you!!
The grace period for picking up students without a car rider tag or a transportation change email is officially over. If you do not have a tag or have not followed the transportation change procedures, you will be asked to go to the front office instead of continuing in the car rider lane (even if we recognize you). If you have not yet received your tags, please notify the front office ASAP. We thank you for your cooperation!

We are excited to tell you that we will be using PurposeFull People this year, a program that teaches skills to help students be successful in school and in life. We believe that students should have safe, predictable places to learn where they feel included. Students should have healthy and helpful connections with teachers and classmates. They should also experience learning that will help them tackle challenges inside and outside of school.

Play 2 Learn is a program for children from birth to 5 years old and their parents. This program is focused on building the capacity in parents to be their child’s first and best teacher as well as providing an opportunity for students to be in a group setting to play and learn. The program is FREE. Please contact Valerie Jackson if you are interested in attending the Play 2 Learn on Wednesdays from 8:30am-10:00am, or complete this form.
