Thank you for sponsoring the meals for teachers during the conference! Our teachers greatly appreciated it!
Lineville Intermediate School Class Choices
Planning Ahead: Lineville Intermediate School Class Choices
In April fourth graders and their parents will learn about the music class options at Lineville: band, chorus, and orchestra. A music class selection for fifth grade must be made by mid-April. Course descriptions and registration information will be available on April 8th, and selections must be made and the registration completed within 10 days.
Parents who desire more information at this time are invited to visit the music class websites, which are linked to the Lineville home page: lineville.hssdschools.org
Volunteer Opportunities & Field Trip Chaperones
As we begin a new school year, we will have grade level field trips that may need chaperones and other possible parent volunteer opportunities.
- Anyone interested in volunteering must go through the approval process that includes a background check.
- More detailed information will be shared by your student's classroom teacher regarding the details of the field trips but we encourage you to begin this process now.
- If you think you may already be approved but are unsure, please contact Tricia Gower at: tricgowe@hssdschools.org to look up your information.
- This process only needs to be completed once by an individual while your child(ren) are in the district.
- Apply Early! This process can take up to a month to complete while we wait for the results of the background check from our 3rd party vendor.
- Below is PDF with instructions with screenshots of each step of the application process.
The link below is where you'll find the information on how to set up your HSSD volunteer profile and begin this process. https://www.hssdschools.org/community/vip
1. Once you follow the link, scroll down to where it says "Get Involved" under the Volunteer Login section. Click on that and more instructions will appear.
2. Click on "Create a volunteer profile". Once you do so, another window should open up to a new website.
3. Once there, you will see "Keyword" with a search box next to it. In that search box, type the word "Howard" and hit enter. Scroll down and you will see the names of all of the schools in the district.
4. Click on Meadowbrook Elementary School and you will be brought to the Meadowbrook Elementary Volunteer Page.
5. On the right hand side of the screen there is a "Fill in an application" button, click that.
6. On the next screen, begin entering your information under "I am new to MyImpactpage.com and follow the steps to complete the application. Shortly after you complete your application, you will receive an email from Kim Decur (HSSD Volunteer Coordinator) that includes the necessary information to begin the background check process. If you do not see that email within 24 hours, check your SPAM folder as it may have ended up there. If you still do not see the email, send a message to Kim (kimbdecu@hssdschools.org) and she will look into that for you.
Medication at School
Any medication to be taken at school needs to be brought in by a parent with the proper medication forms.
The medication needs to be in the original container, which indicates dosage amount and frequency of medication. These items will be kept in the health room. Students are not allowed to transport medications. Parents need to bring in medications to school and take them home when a student is finished. Medications will not be given to any student without the proper paperwork on file or if the medication is not in the original container. You can print out the forms needed by clicking the link.
Dress for the weather
Drop off/Pick up Time
- Pull all the way forward
- Do not get out of your vehicles as this will hold up the car line
- Students should enter the passenger side of your vehicle
Thank you for your assistance!
DROPPING OFF YOUR CHILD LATE IN THE MORNING
If your child will be arriving late to school in the morning, please be sure to call the attendance line to let us know. When you arrive with your child to school, you can enter the the office door and we will give them a pass to proceed to their classroom.
Giving Tree Important Information
Thank you for helping us serve over 600 children for our Holiday Store and pantry in December. Your donations make a difference in helping so many students and their families. This month we are collecting breakfast food items: Cereal, Oatmeal, Pancake Mix and Pop Tarts
Please feel free to send donations with your students to put in the collections bins/carts near the main office of school. Items can also be dropped off during school hours. The Giving Tree appreciates the community support in helping ensure food is not a barrier to a student’s education.
Learn more about The Giving Tree HERE
This month The Giving Tree is collecting donated band and orchestra instruments (must be working and in good condition). Instruments can be dropped off at the District Office, 2706 Lineville Rd, from 7:30am-4pm Monday-Friday. If you would like a donation receipt for tax purposes, please leave your contact information and a receipt will be mailed or emailed to you.
