Family/ Whānau Fun Night
I would like to congratulate the Stanley Avenue Community on a fantastic turn out at our Fun Night held on Wednesday night. We had three key goals for the night. Our first goal was to build relationships and connections (whanaungatanga) between families/ whānau and teaching staff, secondly to enjoy shared kai and finally to have fun taking part in the activities. The back field was a hive of activity with a range of sporting games being played. As the night progressed more and more parents rolled back the years and got involved in some fun touch, soccer and cricket games. Many laughs were had! (Only one adult injury was reported!)
A big thank you to the Stanley Avenue Board of Trustees for cooking and providing a free Sausage Sizzle and to everyone for their attendance.
Road Safety- School Crossing
A big thank you to the community members who have responded to our blurb about using the school crossing. You are being great role models, keep it up!

Stanley Ave Swimming Sports - 8 years and above
This year, due to our school pool being out of action, our Swimming Sports looks a bit different and will be held solely at the Te Aroha College on 28th February.
There has been a message put out on Hero for Swimming Entries. Please take a look and reply as soon as possible. It is important that children are confident in deep water and can swim 33 metres without stopping, to take part in Swimming Sports at the College.
We will need helpers on the day. If your child is swimming and you can lend a hand, please contact the office or Di Meyler 027 2722227 or di.meyler@stanleyave.school.nz
Thank you for your assistance.

Basketball
Wednesday night saw the start of Basketball for Year 5 and 6 cohort. Students had a great night at the Silver Ferns Event Centre and played well in their teams, demonstrating our school dimension of Team Player. We are excited to see how they develop and grow in confidence over the term. Way to go S.A.S.
Frienship Zone update - Week 3
Week threes challenges have proven to be extremely popular with all ages. We have the seniors helping make pom poms and lots of happy children. A few brave students have also mastered Gutterball. Waka points have been awarded for their efforts. Well done Stanley Ave Students!

We have gone live on DirectGroup Uniforms with our new Sports Shirts that you are able to purchase.
