A message from your School Nurse
As we are in the middle of cold and flu season, I just wanted to remind our students and families of our medication policy related to students carrying over-the-counter (OTC) medications at school. Students are permitted to carry some OTC medications at school only if a signed parent medication authorization form is on file with the nurse. OTC medications that are permitted to be carried by students include: Tylenol, Acetaminophen, Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Midol, Aspirin, Antacids, cough drops, and oral antihistamines. All prescription medication and any OTC medications not listed above shall be kept in the nurse's clinic.
The student and parent/guardian are responsible for the following:
- Obtaining, reading, and signing a written permission form before the student is allowed to carry approved medication.
- Ensuring the medication is in its original container and legibly labeled with the student's full name.
- Reminding the student he/she is not permitted to give his/her medication to other students.
- Ensuring that the School Nurse has a copy of the signed permission form on file in the clinic, and the student carries a copy of the signed form with the medication(s)
If you have any questions regarding the medication policy, please contact your school nurse at (706) 546-7721 ext. 20764.
Yours in good health,
Nurse Eve

We would like to invite the Cedar Shoals community to come out and hear our Pre-LGPE concert on Thursday, February 21st (6:30 pm). LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation) is our state assessment and our students are in high gear preparing for our performance in early March. The Pre-LGPE concert gives us the opportunity to perform our state assessment pieces for an audience and judges that provide feedback to help us prepare for the final performance. We would love to see our Cedar family show up for our performance. Admission is free.
