Notes from the Principal...
Winter Break - Starts December 20th @ 12:04
Hello Monfort families,
Whew! I can't believe that this is the last school week of 2024!
This is SUCH an exciting week for students with the holidays coming up!
Below is a graphic with the spirit days that we, as a staff participate in, so please feel free to have your child participate as well.
A big shout out of thanks to Nicole Brown and her team who "Decked the Halls" for the holidays and also to Rozanne Giambanco and her team who put on the Santa Shop for students to participate in.
Both of those events help our Monfort family connect and celebrate this time of year!
Many parents have extended well wishes for my retirement and the words have been so kind and appreciated. I really do love this school! When a new principal is named, communication will be sent to families.
As we are experiencing colder temperatures, I would like to remind everyone to encourage our students to wear proper clothing for cold weather. This includes winter coats, hats, gloves, and boots. Please be sure to put your child's name or initials in the items so if they are lost, it's easier to return.
Our LOST and FOUND is overflowing! If you are missing an item of clothing for your child, please have them check the lost and found or stop by the front office and take a look. Around Christmas, we plan on donating what's left in the bins so we can have room in January! Please put your child's name in coats, snow pants (when it's snowy), and other items so we can return them and not have to put them in the Lost and Found.
Below are the links for the positions currently open at Monfort! They were also in last week's Knight Line News. If you applied, please email me at marybeth.rizzo@uticak12.org and let me know which position you are interested in. In order for the application to go to Human Resources, I need to let them know who applied for the Monfort positions.

Monfort Safety and Security
When entering Monfort...
We are asking for your assistance to ensure that our security procedures during the school day are effective. As many of you know, our school has a security camera, intercom, and buzzer at the front main entrance for use during the school day. To help us assist you when you would like to enter the school:
1. Please press the buzzer to speak with someone in the office
2. You will be asked to state your name and reason for visiting
3. You will be asked to show your photo ID into the security camera above the outside door
4. Office staff will then be able to buzz you inside
5. All visitors must immediately register in the office
In addition, we are asking you to not let any visitors in the door as you enter (and they come up behind you) or as you exit the building.
The teachers and staff are committed to student safety and security and we would like to thank you for your assistance in helping keep the students of Monfort safe!

Medication at School
Any child who needs to have medication administered at school will need to have completed medial forms on file for each medication. This includes over-the-counter medications, such as Tylenol/Advil, cough drops, allergy medication, and others.
Children may not bring any medication to school, including allergy medication, without signed medical forms on file. Please do not send medication to school in your child's backpack, such as inhalers, EpiPen, or over-the-counter medications as they will be asked to keep the medication in the office for parents to pick up. If your child needs to have medication in their backpack per Doctor recommendation, UCS requires the completed medical form to be on file with the office.
