Principal Update
Dear Families and caregivers,
I hope this newsletter finds you well and I hope your child is pretty excited with lots of fun events to look forward to as we draw near to the Christmas break. As we move through the November, I want to take a moment to reflect on all the wonderful things happening at Santa Clara and share some exciting updates about the remarkable journey we are on together.
Celebrating Our School Community
At Santa Clara we believe in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, inspired, and empowered. It is truly a privilege to witness the growth and progress of our students every day. From the moment they step onto our school site, it’s clear that our school is a special place—one where students are encouraged to explore their passions, develop new skills, and become confident, compassionate individuals.
Highlights of the Month:
- Academic Excellence: Our dedicated teachers are going above and beyond to deliver engaging lessons and provide personalised support. Whether it’s in math, reading, science, or the arts, our students are thriving. We’re so proud of their hard work and determination to achieve their best. At this moment, I would like to acknowledge the work the our teachers are doing in preparation for reports.
- Innovative Learning Opportunities: This year, we’ve introduced new hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity and critical thinking. From STEM projects to outdoor learning spaces being utilised, our students are developing a love for exploration and discovery.
- Community Spirit: One of the things that truly sets Santa Clara apart is the sense of community we’ve built together. Whether through our school-wide events, parent involvement, or the positive relationships between staff, students, and families, there’s a real feeling of belonging here. Two year 6 students offered their time to speak at church on Sunday about how Santa Clara has shaped them as they move to high school. This was a great example of how our students help support and promote the great school we have.
- Student Leadership: It’s inspiring to see our students grow into leadership roles, whether in the classroom, on the playground, or as part of our school’s various committees. We are so proud of the responsibility they take on and the kindness they show one another.
- Special Programs and Initiatives: This year, we’ve expanded our focus on social-emotional learning, ensuring that our students are well-rounded individuals. Our URStrong program is already making a positive impact, helping students build resilience, empathy, and confidence.
Looking Ahead
A Thank You to Our Families
Thank you to all of our parents and caregivers who make Santa Clara School such a wonderful place to learn and grow. Your support, whether in the form of time, resources, or encouragement, is truly appreciated. Together, we’re creating an environment where our students can flourish and achieve great things.
I look forward to sharing more updates with you in the last few weeks of Term 4. Until then, I encourage you to reach out with any questions, suggestions, or ideas. Your input is always welcome!
Swimming Lesson Change and cannot locate another venue for the Swimming Carnival
Due to the limited swimming instructors swimming lessons have had to change to a 5-day program instead of a 10-day program. Please refer to letter that was sent out this week.
In addition, the school was unable to locate another venue to hold our annual swimming carnival this year at this late stage. I understand your frustration as this is a fantastic day for our students to display their talents and have some fun. Please note that the school has exhausted all possibilities to find a venue that is appropriate to hold the carnival.
Annual Community Meeting
Next Wednesday at 4:30pm our school will come together beginning with a Sundowner before our Annual Community Meeting beginning at 5:30pm. It is not too late to nominate to be part of our CSAC in 2025!
Kind regards,
Andrew Gaudoin
