A Note From Ms. C
Dear RES Community,
It’s finally feeling like spring… hooray!
Each class has been abuzz with activity recently as we enter this final week before April Break. Mrs. Giroux’s class has had their eye on the sky the last few weeks as they learned about moon phases, the eclipse, and constellations! Mrs. H’s class has been engaging with the sky, but in a different way - through a study of weather and its changes. They even got to learn from meteorologist Marissa Vigevani, and were on the NBC 5 weather newscast! A huge thank you to Mrs. H and Erin for coordinating this amazing experience for our students! Ms. O’s class has been engaging thoughtfully with the book Wildoak, and fifth graders have been hard at work on their exhibition projects!
When we return from April break, we have the exciting opportunity to drum and learn with Stuart Paton from Burlingtin Taiko! A million thank yous to Sarah Metcalf who submitted an ACEF Grant to bring this opportunity to our students! Stuart will spend the week drumming with our students as well as sharing Japanese culture and his experiences growing up in Japan, with our students! If you would like to join us for any of these days, please reach out to Meg - we’d love to have you!

Volunteering in our schools!
Parents and caregivers: If you’re interested in volunteering for end-of-year activities and field trips, now is the time to register to volunteer! It takes a few weeks for background checks, so please start the process now with this volunteer form to ensure you’re approved. If you think you might already be registered, contact the administrative assistant at your school or email thuestis@acsdvt.org to double check. Once you are approved, you will be emailed at the beginning of each school year to remain an active volunteer.
