Principal Updates

Neubert Families,


Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place on Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th. This is an excellent opportunity to get feedback on how your child is performing. If you have not signed up for a conference, please consider doing so by the end of this week. Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled via the web at https://app.ptcwizard.com/neubert300/login. If you are not available on Parent-Teacher Conference Days, please reach out to your child's teacher to find another way to connect about your child's progress.


Due to Parent-Teacher Conferences and Fall Break, students will not attend class November 25th through November 26th.


Our students have been busy in Skills for Success with Mrs. Fewell. Please utilize the the link below to view the District Skills for Success Fall update.



As we approach the winter months, we want to remind everyone of the importance of students bringing their Chromebooks home each night. This ensures that, in the event the district calls an e-learning day due to inclement weather, students will have the tools they need to access their learning materials and participate in their classes remotely.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be taking place later this month. This year, sign up will be online using PTC Wizard. The system closes on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 12:00pm. The following information below will help you through the process.


Conferences Dates:

  • Monday, November 25 from 11:00am until 4:00pm and 5:00pm until 8:00pm

    • Conferences will be in-person at Neubert

  • Tuesday, November 26 from 8:00am until 1:00pm

    • Conferences will be in-person at Neubert

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Go to https://app.ptcwizard.com/neubert300/login (on the NES website)

  2. Enter the your PowerSchool Parent Portal Username (all lowercase letters)

  3. Click “Add an event”

  4. Select “NES Fall 2024 Parent Teacher Conferences”

  5. Select a conference date (November 25, 2024 or November 26, 2024)

  6. Select the teacher you want to conference with (Classroom teachers, resource teachers, specials teachers)

  7. Select an available time (All conferences are 20 minutes long)

  8. Click continue

  9. You will now see your conference schedule.

If you want to change your schedule or add more appointments, simply cancel the appointments you no longer want to keep and start the PTC Wizard process again.


On the day of your scheduled conference:

  • Please enter through the main office at your scheduled time; please exit the building through the main office when your conference is over

  • Parents cannot congregate in the hallway between conferences or while entering or leaving the building

Note of Appreciation

District 300 is excited to once again provide an opportunity for families to recognize outstanding staff members through our Note of Appreciation program.

The 2024-25 Note of Appreciation form is now open and can be accessed by clicking here.

Submitting a Note of Appreciation is easy. Just open the form, identify the staff member you would like to recognize, and provide a few sentences about what makes that person remarkable.

Parents and guardians can recognize teachers, paraeducators, school nurses, lunchroom staff, custodians, coaches – any District 300 employee who has made a positive impact on their student!

Once received, Note of Appreciation submissions are printed and hand delivered to respective staff members.


Your words of appreciation go a long way toward supporting our hardworking staff!

Faculty Feature

Katie Gurklis - Speech Language Pathologist

Meet Katie, one of our dedicated Speech Language Pathologists at Neubert Elementary, now in her 8th year with the school. Katie brings passion and expertise to her work, supporting students with their communication needs while fostering a positive and nurturing environment. Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, their energetic 3-year-old son, Bryson, and their lovable dog, Beau. She’s an avid reader and cook who also loves to explore the outdoors whenever she can. Katie feels incredibly fortunate to be part of such a supportive team at Neubert Elementary, where collaboration and care make all the difference. When she's not working or enjoying family time, she loves diving into both books and movies.

Monthly Data Recap

Each month, our NES Attendance Team meets to review attendance data. To date, the Chronic Absence Rate is 10.5% This means that 10.5% of students at NES have been absent for 10% or more of the school-year so far. This equates to 6.5 or more days.

Attendance Incentive

November Incentive: Every student who arrived to school on time and had no absences for the month of October will be receiving A Free Order of Wendy's Chicken Nuggets!


Attendance Incentive Donations

Do you own a local business and want to donate a monthly perfect attendance incentive for the students at Neubert? Each month we feature our local businesses who provide the monthly attendance incentive! If you would like to donate for the month January or February, please reach out to heather.hodal@d300.org.
