A Message from the Principal!

Monday, December 9th - Permission slip for the 8th grade field trip to Blue Ridge and James Rumsey is due today. Click here to view the permission form.

Day Basketball Game - Lady Eagles vs. the South Middle Lady Trojans - the cost to attend is $5. There will be a concession stand. Please bring additional $ if you would like concessions (bring small bills - no $20's). Varsity will play at 12:30. JV is immediately after. Students will leave at 2:30 and go home on the bus unless they have made previous arrangements to get home. The game usually ends by 3 p.m. Boys will travel to South Middle School.

Parents: If you are attending the day game - PLEASE PARK IN THE FRONT PARKING LOT (NOT the road in front of the school). Do not park on the side because school buses will need to pull in for the end of the day bus run. You will enter through the front doors. There is no charge for adults for our day basketball game. A parent section will be roped off to sit in.

Tuesday, December 10- Science Fair Project set up

STUDENTS MUST SET UP THEIR PROJECTS ON TUESDAY. THEY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO SET UP THEIR PROJECT WEDNESDAY MORNING.

Students may bring their project to school with them to set up during their science class or they may set up after school between the hours of 2:30-4:00 pm.

• For set up you will need to have:
• Display board
• Small card Table for set up (no bigger than 30x 30)
• Abstract (without names)
• Know your assigned project number

Wednesday, December 11- SCIENCE FAIR

Judging will begin promptly at 7:30am. A student volunteer will come get students when it is time to present to judges.

OPEN HOUSE AND AWARDS CEREMONY will follow. The OPEN HOUSE to view student projects will take place at 5:00-5:30 pm, AWARDS CEREMONY follows promptly at 5:30-6:00pm.

Students must take their projects and tables home directly after the awards ceremony.

Wednesday, December 11th - Handbell/Choir concert @ HHS Auditorium @ 6 p.m.

Thursday, December 12th - Basketball - Our boys will play at home. Our Lady Eagle basketball teams will travel to Spring Mills Middle to face the Patriots. Our gates open at 5:30 p.m. in the back of the school by the gym/cafeteria and the JV game will begin at 6 p.m. Cost to attend is $5.

Friday, December 13th - James Rumsey/Blue Ridge Field Trip for 8th graders

Friday, December 13th - Paint Night in the HMS Cafeteria 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

This holiday season, the Student Council will be hosting the Giving Tree at HMS! Students can take an ornament from the tree, each one listing an item that’s needed, and bring the item back to school to donate. All items will go to families in Asheville, NC, who were affected by the hurricane earlier this year. Let’s spread some holiday cheer and make a difference. Let’s be good and do good!

The Student Council will be selling Candy Cane Grams the week of December 9th - 13th!

For just $2, you can send a candy cane and a special message to a friend!

It’s a sweet way to spread holiday cheer and show someone you care.
