OES Family Update
Monday March 4
OES Vision: At Oregon Elementary School, we are a community that cultivates academic excellence and empowers young leaders to make a positive impact on the world
Message from the Principal
We have finished the month of February strong and are looking forward to continue to grow in our learning at OES. The end of the 3rd Quarter is this week, with report cards going live on PowerSchool Friday March 15th. Our 3rd-6th grade students are preparing for the Illinois Assessment of Readiness that we will take the week of April 8th after Spring Break. Although standardized testing is a single data point on a child's academic progress, we view it as an opportunity to show just how far we have grown throughout the school year. I am confident in our staff and students' abilities and look forward to using this interruption to our regular schedule as an opportunity for our school to shine! We outperformed all schools in Ogle County in many areas last year on this assessment, and we have a goal as staff to continue to be the very best school around on this metric. OES is a great place to learn and grown and we will continue to strive to make this the very best to attend school in the area in all that we do. We appreciate the supportive families and community involvement that help make that a reality, and look forward to continuing the work together for the rest of this year!
Go Hawks!

PreK and Kindergarten Screenings
If you have a child that will be 3 or 4 years old in the 2024-25 School Year and is NOT YET enrolled in our Pre-School Program, please call our office at 815-732-5300 to schedule a screening for next year. Our PreK program is a Gold Circle of Quality, which is the highest recognition a program can get from the state of Illinois, and is completely FREE with transportation provided.
For students entering Kindergarten in the 2024-25 School Year, informational letters will be sent later this month detailing the Pre-Registration Process.
Additionally, our kindergarten staff will be conducting screenings on April 17th during the school day. There will be No School for Kindergarten or Junior Kindergarten students that day. All Incoming Kindergarten students enrolled in an OES PreSchool, Best Beginnings, Nash Pre-School, and Little Explorers will be screened by our Kindergarten teachers in preparation for next year. Additionally, there will be another screening in July/August for those unavailable that day.
