Welcome to our Community Backpack e-newsletter!

Summer is just around the corner, and Cambridge-Isanti Community Education is buzzing with exciting opportunities for all ages! From enriching youth and adult programs to the much-anticipated return of Isanti County Safety Camp, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We’re also celebrating the hard work and dedication of our amazing staff. Plus, don’t miss out on a variety of free community events designed to bring families together for fun in the sun all season long!

Open Swim

Bring the whole family for a fun and relaxing time at Open Swim! Splash, play, or just enjoy the water together. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult for safety.

Out & About with ECFE

Join us for fun field trips as ECFE hits the road this summer! Each trip includes special reserved time just for ECFE families. Bus transportation is available—come explore with us!
Ballet Student

Beginner Ballet (Ages 3-14)

Fun, beginner-friendly classes where kids learn basic ballet steps, build strength, and express creativity through movement. Classes feature music, original choreography, and a final-day performance for parents.

We’re thrilled to announce the 18th Annual Isanti County Safety Camp!

While 2020 may have paused Safety Camp, we're back and ready to teach kids how to stay safe and have fun!

When:
2-day event — Thursday & Friday, June 26 & 27 @ CIHS

Who:
Open to all Isanti County children entering 3rd–5th grade

What:
A hands-on camp focused on bike, water, electrical, fire safety, and more!
Get up close with ambulance and rescue helicopter tours, plus many more exciting activities!

Each registration includes:

  • Camp T-shirt

  • Water bottle

  • Snacks & lunches for both days

Bring your swimsuit and a towel on Day 2.

Safety Camp wraps up with a graduation ceremony at the Richard G. Hardy Performing Arts Center, followed by an Ice Cream Social. Families are encouraged to join the fun!

East Central Grad Band presents "A Few of My Favorite Things"

Sunday, May 18, 2:00 pm

Richard G. Hardy Performing Arts Center, Cambridge-Isanti High School

In honor of Director Lynn Wedlund’s 38 years of dedicated service conducting the band, this concert will feature a selection of fun movie music from the past, along with favorites like a Karl King march and the fiery rhythms of Encanto. The concert is free, but the band gratefully accepts donations at the door. Thank you for being part of this special tribute!

Looking for free, family-friendly activities this summer? The cities of Cambridge and Isanti have you covered!


Cambridge invites you to enjoy a full season of programming with fun events for all ages happening throughout June, July, and August. All events are free and open to the public, so bring the whole family and make the most of summer.


Isanti is also offering a wide variety of summer activities through their Parks, Recreation, and Culture Department. With events designed for all generations, plus access to beautiful parks, trails, and walkways, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
