Fundraising Update & PAC Initiatives
Fundraising Update: With your support, PAC has raised $13,803 of our initial $15,000 fundraising goal! With your generous contributions, we have been able to fund several new clubs and other student activities. We thank you in advance for your continued contributions to the Unfundraiser and support of our upcoming fundraising events.
Current Initiatives: PAC is currently collaborating with administration on the following initiatives. While we hope to make each of these a reality, we cannot guarantee that will be the case. Support for these initiatives is largely contingent on feasibility, funds raised, volunteer commitment, and obtaining the appropriate approvals. If you have an interested in assisting with one or more of these initiatives, please email qms.pac@gmail.com or join us at next meeting and we will put you to work!
- 8th Grade Banquet – We hope to hold this years’ 8th grade banquet “A Night at the Tropics” at a local (in Mansfield) hotel on June 17th 6-9 pm. However, as with all PAC initiatives, this is contingent on feasibility, funds raised, volunteer commitment, and obtaining the appropriate approvals. In years past, the event has cost $3,000; however, to hold the event at a local hotel, the cost is close to $10,000. Unfortunately, PAC is unable to commit this amount of money, responsibly, without knowing that the chaperone obligation has been fulfilled and raising enough funds. We are very close to securing the minimum number of chaperones, but are still a couple short. We need those who signed up to complete their CORI's as soon as possible. If the minimum chaperones are not secured before the venue requires a non-refundable deposit, the celebration will take place on school grounds as has been customary for many, many years. We will keep you informed as final decisions are made. We're also asking families of 8th grade students to consider contributing to the 8th Grade Banquet by making a donation to the Unfundraiser. To ensure your donation is used for the banquet, please include "8th Grade Banquet" in the comments section.
- School Resource Officer (SRO) Partnership - PAC is working with our SRO, Derek McCune to explore how we may bring the "Bentley Award" and "Breakfast with Bentley" to QMS. We're working to identify other opportunities to collaborate with Mansfield Police Department and SRO to bring presentations on a variety of topics facing our youth to students and/or families.
- Staff Appreciation - It's that time of year when PAC will start planning for Staff Appreciation. In preparation, PAC is looking for volunteers to assist with meal and event planning for the week of May 6-10, 2024. This could be volunteering to contact local restaurants to sponsor a meal or to coordinate volunteers for meal donations including pick drop off and set up. If you're interested, please let us know.
- Book Fair - Ms. Shultz, the QMS Librarian, has expressed interest in holding an onsite Book Fair this spring. To make this happen, we need your help! PAC is looking for a couple volunteers to lead this effort. If you are interested, please let us know.
A Night at the Tropics ~ 8th Grade Banquet Update
As communicated in the January PAC Newsletter, we hope to hold “A Night at the Tropics” at a local hotel June 17th 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm.
Unfortunately, we still have not secured the minimum number of chaperones necessary to hold the banquet off of school property. If the minimum chaperones are not secured before the venue requires a non-refundable deposit, the celebration will take place on school grounds as has been customary for many, many years. We will keep you informed as final decisions are made.
We have sent multiple reminders to those who have expressed interest in chaperoning reminding them to submit their Criminal Offender Record Inquiry (CORI) form for this year. If you still need to complete your CORI, please do so AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
In order to chaperone, parents/guardians must have a valid CORI on file with Mansfield Public Schools EACH YEAR*. To volunteer for this event, please stop by the Main Office to complete a CORI form AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Don’t forget to bring a valid MA state issued ID with you.
What will Chaperones do at the Banquet? In addition to directing students to the designated banquet area and directing families to exit following family pictures, chaperones will be stationed at various locations and will be responsible for a variety of duties including:
- Bathroom Monitors: Ensure no more than 2 students in the bathroom at one time
- Exterior Exit Monitor: Ensure students do not exit the building
- Interior Exit Monitor: Ensure students do not exit the designated banquet area
- Room Monitor: Monitor students behavior
- Floater: Provide coverage, as necessary, to any one of the duties noted above
We're also asking families of 8th grade students to consider contributing to the 8th Grade Banquet by making a donation to the Unfundraiser. To ensure your donation is used for the banquet, please include "8th Grade Banquet" in the comments section.
*Previously communicated as every two (2) years by the school and PAC. PAC has been notified CORI forms need to be updated annually.

UNFUNDRAISER
Help us reach out fundraising goal! Your contribution is tax deductible!
Dislike having to sell “stuff” to raise funds for an organization? Well, so do we! In lieu of tasking students and parents with selling typical fundraising items, PAC is pleased to offer a tax deductible option to take the hassle out of fundraising. Your participation is completely voluntary and very much appreciated! You can simply make a donation via Venmo, PayPal, or check!
Your donations will enable us to support our students and teachers by providing the funds for enrichment, technology, flexible seating, speaker events and so much more. Our goal is to raise $15,000 this year. This will put us in a terrific position to support all of our ongoing student activities and provide an opportunity to see what new initiatives we can help with.
_____ $25 - I don’t want to buy chocolate bars, please take this donation instead.
_____ $50 - I don’t want to sell coupon books so here’s a better alternative.
_____ $100 or $_______ Here’s a donation to show my appreciation for not having to buy, sell, or do anything else for fundraising this year.
Payments can be made via PayPal at QMS UnFundraiser Donation, Venmo @QMS-PAC, or send a check payable to "QMS PAC" to QMS PAC, 240 East Street, Mansfield, MA 02048. Remember, donations are tax deductible.
