Help Us Retain Our Crossing Guard – Walk or Ride to School!
The City of Thousand Oaks may still be monitoring our Arboles/Velarde crosswalk usage in March, so we continue to encourage as many students as possible to walk, bike, or ride scooters to school and utilize this crosswalk in the weeks and months ahead.
Your participation helps demonstrate the importance of maintaining safe routes to school for our students. Thank you for your support in keeping our community safe and thriving!
Just a Few Spots Left for the Most Exciting Assembly of the School Year - Sign-up to Volunteer Today!
Our STEAM Museum Assemblies at Wildwood Elementary have been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 26! This program will turn our multi-purpose room into a state-of-the-art, hands-on children’s museum focused on STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Students will rotate through stations to experience robots, virtual reality, 3D printing, art, engineering, and more!
Every student will have the opportunity to participate in this one-of-a-kind experience, and we need parent volunteers to supervise some of these self-run stations at these assemblies. Please take a look at THIS form and consider signing-up to serve at one (or more) of our seven grade level assemblies.

STEAM Update
Hello Wildwood Families!
What a fun couple of weeks we've had! Our 4th and 5th graders got to dissect owl pellets, and our TK-3rd graders made kaleidoscopes. The next two weeks we will be making ice cream using coffee cans, rock salt, and ice. If you do not want your child to have a tasting sample of the finished product, please shoot me an email at scasey@conejousd.org. I will try and have a non-dairy option for students who are allergic. The ingredients we will be using are half and half, vanilla, and sugar.
A huge thank you to the Mondet family for donating all the sugar we need as well as vanilla and rock salt! If you are interested in donating, I will be looking for half and half as well as more rock salt and vanilla. Please shoot me an email so we can coordinate if you are interested.
Thank you!
Mrs. Casey
Phone Call Protocols for Students
For safety reasons, students may ONLY call home from the front office phone or health office phone. Students with cell phones MUST have them turned off and kept in a backpack at all times during the school day. Students with watches that have text or phone capabilities should not communicate through them during the school day. Students who violate these standards of conduct will lose the privilege of bringing these devices on campus.

FUN & Easy Volunteer Opportunities
We are excited to share two wonderful opportunities to volunteer at Wildwood and make a positive impact on our students’ school experience!
Create: Arts & Crafts with Students
- When: Thursdays, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM
- What: Join us for a fun, hands-on session where students get to express their creativity through arts and crafts. This is a highlight of their week and a great way to connect with them!
Take a Look, Take a Book
- When: Last school day of the month, 9:15 AM - 10:45 AM (first recess)
- What: Help students check the lost and found and pick out a book to take home. This event encourages reading while giving students a sense of ownership and excitement about books.
If you’re interested in volunteering for one or both events, please let me know as soon as possible. We would love to have your help in creating these memorable experiences for our students.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a difference at Wildwood!
Best regards,
Mindy Nunez
