Attendance
Whole School Attendance this week - 92.1%
We are aiming for at least 97% - let's work together to make this happen!!
Please remember that if your child is going to be absent from school you should call school before 8.30am to report this. If they are off for multiple days, you should call school each day that they are off. If your child is suffering from something such as a cough or cold we do recommend that you send them into school and see how they get on. It is amazing how many children perk up once they get into school and we can assure you that if it becomes evident that a child should not be in school we will make contact with yourself as parent/carer.
As a school, our attendance has greatly improved over the last year and this is all thanks to you and the effort you are making in getting your children into school every day.
Weekly Reflection
Our word of the week has been 'sacrifice' and this week we have been thinking about Remembrance Day. It is also a time to reflect and think about the past generations of people like our grandparents and great-grandparents and the sacrifices they have made for us... Think about anyone you may know who has made sacrifices for you... And also think about the men and women who work to keep us safe such as the Army, Police, Firefighters, Air force and Navy.
There are lots of countries in the world who do not live in times of peace. We should not take our peace for granted. Christians believe that God wants people to live in freedom and peace and with justice. We should be thankful for the people who have given their lives so that we are free to live ours in peace.
Safeguarding
Some children are talking about a character they are watching on YouTube called ‘Huggy Wuggy’. The creature has long arms, legs and rows of sharp teeth.
Although the name seems harmless it is a video which talks about death and whispers horrible things in your ear when giving hugs.
Due to its name ‘Huggy Wuggy’ is able to get through blocks at home and YouTube’s own filtering system.
There are reports online that content can cause anxiety and nightmares amongst children.
Please make sure that you are aware of what your children are watching, that you challenge any behaviours and discuss if the name arises
