Dates - Friday, April 21 (out of school) - Sunday, April 23
Location - HoustonEvents - Performances / Space Center / Houston Symphony / U of H College Tour / Museum of Natural Science
Hotel - Double Tree Houston, Greenway Plaza
Includes - All transportation cost / Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner while in Houston
Cost - $650 (can pay all at once or break into payments)

WIND SYMPHONY
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE 7AM-9:40AM (due to missing 4 days last week and 3 this week)
YOU MUST KEEP UP WITH YOUR REHEARSAL HOMEWORK.
Arrive at 6:45am in order to warm up. We will not be doing daily drill, just lots of music.

- Wednesday - Friday: Schedule time to meet with your ensemble. Band hall will be open by 7am.

Wind Ensemble: Ensemble Groups
SYMPHONIC WINDS
NEW INFORMATION- CHAIR TEST 2
Chair Test 2- 2 Octave Chromatic Scale
- Chair test 2 will happen the week of February 13th in your sectionals.
- You will play your two octave chromatic scale from F to F (horn and tenor sax- concert Bb to concert Bb) at your own steady, continuous tempo.
- You will be rewarded for accuracy and mastery of rule of sound 2, not speed.
Chair Test 1 Results Were Sent out on the Band App- Sorry I could not get it to embed here.
If it says “No Met=No Chair,” then you will play your test and earn your chair when you have your own metronome (no phone).
BRING MONEY FOR YOUR ENSEMBLES
- Everyone is required to play in one ensemble
- You have the option to play in a second ensemble within your class (Wind Ensemble) OR with your section's studio if a lesson teacher is organizing it (example- Flute Choir led by Ms. Guerra)

*AM Sectionals arrive no later than 6:45 am to set up chairs, stands, and instrument, warm up, and be ready to begin at 7:00 am. 7:45 am sectional people arrive by 7:30 to be ready for a quick transition.

UIL Music and Percussion Ensemble Music Goal - Reminder
- Percussion students should be able to play correct notes and rhythms for all assigned parts at 100% performance tempo.
- Plan to increase your daily individual practice time if you are still working to reach that goal.

SERVICE AWARD
Camaraderie Level of Service 10-30 points | Excellence in Service 40+ Points
- Work 4 hours of service- Sports Concessions Stands (typically 2 hours per game), Contest or Concert setup/hosting at designated JH/HS band event. Each hour of service is worth 10 points. You may work more than 4 hours, however no more than 40 points can be obtained towards a letter jacket.
- Participate in all Band Contests during the year.
- No absence from any performance unless excused by the Band Director prior to the performance.
Note: Due to the increasing numbers of Band students wishing to letter each year, the Band Director may establish alternative means of meeting the Service requirements. Those students who cannot work in the concession stand on Tuesday or Thursday nights should check with the Band Director during football season to obtain alternate Service credit.
