Dear Parents/Guardians and Seventh Grade Students:

In today's global economy, preparing each student for educational progress is the gateway to better lifetime opportunities. Through the Utah School Counseling Program Model, school counselors inspire all students to prepare for educational choices through individual student planning, career pathways, and career literacy.

These individual student planning meetings are called Plans for College and Career Readiness (PCCR). We meet with each 7th grade student and their parents to discuss preparation for junior high school, high school, and college. These meetings help prepare students and parents as they begin making junior high and high school course and activity choices.

Please go to the DFMS website, click on the Counseling Office tab, scroll down to find the PCCR information. Please click on the Sign-Up Genius tab under the counselor assigned to your last name. We have meetings available for daytime and evening hours to accommodate parent work schedules. Each PCCR meeting will last approximately 20 minutes.

Picture retakes will happen on Oct 1st. Retakes will start being taken in the morning and students will be call down alphabetically throughout the day. If your student was absent or did not get their picture taken they will need to have a picture taken on this day. Each student needs to have an updated picture taken for this school year. If you are doing retakes please bring back your picture packet to turn in. Click here for different picture options.

We will celebrate Hispanic, Latino, and Caribbean Heritages and Cultures this week, September 23-27. We will host games during lunches, provide information about different countries during announcements, and help our students appreciate these amazing cultures.

Monday October 7th, 2024 Nebo School District will be hosting a mental health screener night for students in 3rd-12th grades. This will go from 4pm-8pm and will be held at Diamond Fork Middle School. For more information please use the following link.

Diamondback Days are reward activities with eligibility based on student grades, citizenship, sluffs, and suspensions. We have one Diamondback Day each term. Our first one will be October 8th for 7th graders and October 9th for 6th graders. Specific details regarding the activity will be emailed out next week.

Administration has emailed home a permission slip for all of our major activities for the year. Please make sure to read carefully and fill out completely. This will eliminate the need for paper permission slips for currently scheduled activities.

The purpose of rattler time is to make sure the right interventions are happening! Students that are missing work will be required to meet with those teachers to get the help that they need in those specific classrooms. Students who are failing will meet with study hall techs to get the help they need. If a Student does not need to work on anything specific they can choose an enrichment to attend. Our goal is to provide every student with the support they need in every subject.
