Getting to Know Our Bus Drivers
Let's learn a little about our bus drivers!
POPPIN' PERFECT ATTENDANCE
We are excited to announce a friendly grade-level competition focused on attendance! This initiative aims to encourage all students to be present and engaged in their learning. Each month, the grade level with the highest percentage of perfect attendance will be recognized with a grade-level popcorn party.
We believe this competition will motivate students to attend school regularly and foster a sense of teamwork and school spirit.
We understand that students occasionally get sick, and their health is our top priority. However, we encourage everyone to strive for excellent attendance whenever possible. Consistent attendance is vital to your child's academic success and social development. We love when our students come to school, so let’s get Poppin’ on Perfect Attendance!
Thank you for your partnership!
PAWs Store Volunteers Needed
Our first PAWs store of the year is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9th. We are currently looking for volunteers to help staff the store during the school day. If you are interested, please reach out to Amy O'Donnell at amy.odonnell@d300.org.
PE Update
Mr. Murk will be leaving us on Friday, October 4th. Beginning October 7th, Mr. Ben Pokorny will be our new interim PE teacher. We hope that Mr. Pokorny will be with us until we have a full-time PE teacher. Please help us thank Mr. Murk for his time at Eastview, and welcome Mr. Ben Pokorny!
Looking Ahead to Halloween
We are looking forward to celebrating Halloween at Eastview on Thursday, October 31st. Please see the below information regarding student costumes and the Halloween parade. Please refer to your teacher’s guidelines for any classroom-specific events.
Costumes:
Please use good judgment when selecting costumes for school.
Costumes depicting violence are not appropriate in a school setting.
Students should not bring masks that may obstruct their view while at school
Students should not bring makeup, or hair dye to school.
Weapons may not be a part of any costume (including swords, sticks, guns, etc.)
Parade:
Weather permitting, we will parade outside the school beginning at 9:00. Parents should stand on the blacktop or along the grass in front of the building. If it is raining, we will parade inside, and we will not be able to host parents.
D300/Eastview Text Messages
Many times during the school year, D300 and Eastview will send out text messages with information that is important to students and parents. These messages can include everything from fun, school level activites, and emergency building closures. If you reply STOP to any of these messages, all txt messages from Central Office and any building in the district will be blocked. If you think you should be getting text messages and you are not, please reach out to the office and we can check the status of your cell number.
The Eastview 2024-2025 Yearbook is now on sale. Yearbooks are available for $21 until December 31st, after that, they will be $25. Follow this link to order: https://www.yearbookordercenter.com/?event=general.displayLanding&jobnumber=20915. Enter School Code 20915.

EVERYDAY REMINDERS
How to Notify the Office When Your Student will be Absent
In the event your child will be absent, please email attendance.eastview@D300.org or call 847.532.7420 to report the absence. To ensure timely notification of your student's absence, it is important that you use this email address and/or phone number as the primary way to report absences. This will help eliminate any missed information in the event a teacher or staff member is out of the building. If your student will be absent for more than two days, please complete a Pre-Arranged Absence Form, and drop it off or email it to the office. Students that are missing school for a doctor or dentist appointment, or for therapy, should provide a note from the doctor/therapist when they return to school.
