December 19, 2024
Hello Barrington Families;
As we approach this special time of year, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to all of you for being an essential part of our school community. This season is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the importance of togetherness, kindness, and the joy of learning—values that we strive to nurture every day in our classrooms.
We hope the holiday break brings you moments of rest, laughter, and connection with loved ones. Whether you celebrate traditions old or new, or simply take time to recharge, may this season bring peace and happiness to your homes.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year, refreshed and ready for all the opportunities that 2025 will bring!
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a bright, healthy new year.
School District Budget Update:
On January 7, 2025 at 6pm in the Middle School cafeteria we will be holding our Budget Hearing for the 2025/2026 Proposed Budget. This was a particularly challenging budget process this year with many increases to the budget that are simply out of our control. I encourage you to attend or listen in on the Budget Hearing so that you have a deeper understanding of the proposed budget and all of the factors that play into a Default and a Proposed Budget. We will also be compiling the first ever District Budget Voter Guide so be on the lookout for that sometime Mid February.
This year the Default Budget, which is the budget that the District falls back on in the event that the proposed operating budget does not pass, is at an astounding 6.59%. This is about double the typical default budget. The major factors contributing to these increases are: health insurance, paraprofessional salary increases, and additional students enrolled in our three receiving high schools along with 7-8% increases in high school tuition rates.

Greetings Families,
Happy Holidays! As we approach the holiday break, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks to each of you. It has been a wonderful start to the year, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to collaborate and problem-solve together.
I've had the pleasure of engaging in many meaningful conversations with you—whether at team meetings, over the phone, or in one-on-one discussions. Your involvement and partnership have been invaluable, and I look forward to continuing this journey in the new year.
Wishing you all a restful and joyful holiday break, filled with quality time spent with family and friends.
Thank you again for your ongoing support!
Warm regards,
Technology
Hello Barrington Families.
Proper care of school chromebooks
Here is a presentation created by our computer UA teacher, Ms. Warren at BMS regarding care and respect of school Chromebooks. I want to stress that these devices are fairly expensive to replace and we don't want families to be burdened with those costs. A little care goes a long way to making these devices last.
