Bronco Family Newsletter
January 27th-31st, 2025

From the Principal
Bronco Nation,
What a week it has been! Our campus has been buzzing with excitement and achievement. A huge congratulations to all of our students and teams on their recent successes and performances! Let's give a round of applause for our victorious Wrestling Team, our innovative Robotics team, our fabulous Cheer squad, our spirited Silver Spurs, our Girls Basketball team, our talented Choir students, our captivating Theater troupe, our melodious Orchestra, and our dedicated Swim Team! We are so proud of each and every one of you.
It's amazing how many wonderful things happen at Lake each week. While we celebrate these larger accomplishments, it's also important to appreciate the smaller joys that brighten our days. I encourage you to take a few minutes this week to reflect with your student on the positive aspects of their lives, no matter how small they may seem. Cultivating this sense of gratitude and reflection builds resiliency and helps us appreciate the good in our lives.
On a separate note, a heartfelt thank you to all of you who generously donated games to our campus! We were thrilled to begin distributing them to our teachers and students during Team Time. The students are already enjoying the increased interaction and fun – games are such a wonderful way to connect and build relationships.
I'm looking forward to another fantastic week at Lake. Thank you, as always, for sharing your students with us. It's a privilege to be a part of their journey.

From The Counselors
It is hard to believe that we are halfway done with the year!
Lake Belton High School Counselors have been meeting with students individually to make sure that we have them in the correct classes for next year and to discuss their future academic planning.
Students should have brought (or will be bringing) home a draft of your student’s course selections. Please review the courses that your student selected and let us know if you would like us to make any changes.
Student choices impact course availability and staffing. Once schedules are finalized, course corrections will only be made for errors in the student’s schedule.
Below is a link for any course changes that you would like to make to your students' schedule for next year. Please refrain from emailing the counselors' changes, as we will be using this form to keep track of changes and do not want to miss an email. We appreciate your patience as we work on completing student conferences and prepare the schedules for next year.

Reminders
No Blankets
This is a friendly reminder that with colder temps outside, please plan to bundle up, or bring a jacket to school. Carrying a blanket is a violation of our school’s dress code. Our building is equipped with temperature controls to ensure a comfortable learning environment for everyone. If you are experiencing any discomfort with the temperature, please don’t hesitate to report it so that we can address the issue.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping our school environment focused and productive.

FAFSA Help Sessions
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is an online form by the U.S. Department of Education to help colleges and career schools determine what federal money they can give you to help pay for school. The application must be completed every school year. The types of financial aid that you could receive from the FAFSA include grants like the Pell Grant, scholarships, work-study funds and student loans.
If you need help, please bring your computer and join us for one of the attached sessions hosted by Central Texas Community College. Please make sure and create an FSA ID for your student AND yourself prior to the meeting. For additional assistance you can visit StudentAid.gov or contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243.
The FAFSA is a graduation requirement. If you do not wish to complete the FAFSA, you will have to fill out an opt out form (attached below) and return it to your counselor. Once you have completed the FAFSA, please send a screenshot to your counselor.
