Special Education Progress Reports - June 2024
Your child's special education progress reports from their IEP goals will be available via ParentVUE (the same way you currently access your child's report card). Contact your child's case manager if you have questions about your child's progress reports.
If you have forgotten your ParentVUE password, go to the login page, click "I am a Parent," then click "Forgot Password." If you are unsure whether you have a ParentVUE account, contact your child's school.
Nurse Notes
Individualized Health Plan? Watch for an Email. If your child has a LOSD Individualized Health Plan (IHP) developed in consultation with your District Nurse, please watch for an email! Your response is needed to confirm or update your student's plan. We appreciate your prompt response.
Medication Pick Up. Absolutely ALL medications, prescription and over-the-counter, left in the health room must be picked up by the end of the school day on June 13, 2024. Only parents and guardians may collect the medications; they cannot be sent home with students. Medication Authorization Forms for next year are available on the district web page.
Immunizations. Please review the OHA requirements and information on students' required immunizations. Please arrange to complete immunizations and update Synergy over the summer to avoid exclusion in 2025.

LOSD Program Relocation - status & update
Our relocation process is nearing completion! By the end of summer, we will have successfully relocated all of our dedicated systems of support (ACCESS, DELTA, & Pathways) to a variety of LOSD schools.
This summer, we are relocating one of our Pathways classrooms to River Grove Elementary School. We are also redesigning and remodeling a space for Pathways at Lakeridge High School. We are pleased to announce these final stages of the program relocation process!
We greatly appreciate the continued input and collaboration from both staff and parents to ensure a more diverse distribution of our program level supports.
LOSD Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)
The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is a collaboration between LOSD (Student Services & Building) staff and parents/guardians of students receiving special education services or 504 plan accommodations.
Once finalized, the 2024-25 SEAC parent representative for each LOSD school/program will be shared with Parents/Guardians.
Annual Special Education Report Card
The annual Oregon Department of Education special education report card for Lake Oswego School District can be reviewed here (released to the public May 2024). Reminder, the report card is based on our district special education data for the 2022-23 school year (previous school year).
Data is analyzed to ensure compliance in the area of special education identification rates by race/ethnicity and discipline as well as our graduation rates and other data points.
Save the Date: Smart Start 2024
Smart Start is an opportunity specifically for our students with 504s and IEPs and their parents and guardians to make introductions, connect with their teachers, and feel prepared and welcomed for the start of school. It is scheduled as an in person event at all schools on Thursday, August 29 @ 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Teachers will be familiar with your student’s plans and accommodations. To help get to know your students, please complete the attached one-page profile or create one on your own ahead of time and give it to the teacher at the Smart Start introduction.
Also, to assist in your family’s preparation for the new school year, use the Smart Start checklist for parents and guardians of students with 504s and IEPs. See you on August 29!
Our Nurse-Recommended HERO Kid Registry
HERO (Health Emergency Ready Oregon) Kids Registry is a voluntary, no-cost, secure system that lets families and young adults record critical health details that first responders and hospital emergency department providers can quickly and easily access in an emergency.
HERO Kids Registry can fill the information gap for emergency medical providers faced with split-second decisions. HERO Kids is not just for kids. It is open to any Oregon child or young adult through age 26.
