Dear Lowell Community,

The big news of the week was the delayed re-entry to our beloved Lowell. The staff and I are disappointed but relieved to know we can now adjust our plan and get prepared for our fall opening.

We will continue to stay in both the Lowell West and Lowell Phillips schools until our October return to the new Lowell. Grades K-2 will be located in Lowell Phillips, and Grades 3-5 will be located in Lowell West.

• Our incoming kindergarten will begin at Phillips following our traditional entry schedule. Grades 1 and 2 will stay at Phillips.
• ISP k-2 program will remain at Phillips being lead by Ms. Kirsch and her staff.
• Our current grade 2 will need to begin the school year at Lowell West.
• Bussing will be provided for Lowell West Students
• Bussing will not be provided for Phillips Students
• We plan to continue to use our current schedule until we move into Lowell
• Ms. Jacovides will continue to be the k-2 Guidance Counselor
• Mr. Kraus our new assistant principal will lead the Phillips Campus

Please join us as we communicate additional logistical details on what the first four weeks of the 2023-2024 school year will look like for Lowell families, students, teachers, and staff. This update will include information on transportation and other details for students, families, and staff. Dr. Galdston and I will be hosting virtual forums next week to answer any questions you may have. These forums will be held on Wednesday, June 7th at 6 p.m. and Friday, June 9th at 8:30 a.m.

Our Guidance Counselors, Melina and Brian, scheduled "Bully No More", a virtual anti-bullying assembly for all grades, on Tuesday, June 6th.

Students will remain in their classrooms for the program, which will be on Zoom. Links Below.

The presentation for K-2 will be from 9:15-10:00am.

Grades 3-5 will be from 12:35-1:15pm.

Program Description:

This is a live production (not a recording) that is a broadcast from our TV studio to your students. It is an interactive multimedia presentation which is very instructional regarding what students should do as targets & witnesses of Bullying. We also address those who may be doing the bullying, too.

Typically, classrooms will log-in to the broadcast with smart boards or projectors for their students. If their laptop cameras are pointed at the students - I can see the responses to my questions via hand signals (Thumbs up 👍 / Thumbs down 👎 / Multiple choice fingers 1☝ 2✌ 3, etc.) It's continually engaging, positive and fun! The entire program runs about 40 minute in length.
