April 26, 2024
Tulip Time Marching Schedule
Jefferson Intermediate students in fourth and fifth grade will be marching on Thursday and Friday, May 2 and 3. All students should wear Dutch Costumes for the parades.
Sixth grade band will be performing in the parade on Thursday night and Saturday afternoon.
School will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m. for all grades on Thursday and Friday, May 2 and 3. There will be bus service for both town and country bus students who regularly ride the bus. No lunch will be served. All students must leave the building. If you live in the country please make arrangements for your child to have a place to go to change into his/her costume.
The students will assemble for the parade at 2:30 p.m. at the corner of Independence and East First on the north side of the intersection. This is one block east of the Marion County Windmill Bank. DO NOT LET CHILDREN ARRIVE BEFORE 2:30 p.m. as there will not be any teachers on duty until that time. (Pella Community Schools will be front of Pella Christian Schools, this year.) After the students have finished marching, they will stop at the corner of Franklin and East 2nd and then head north on East 2nd and wait for parents/guardians to pick them up. Please pick up your son/daughter immediately at the end of our marching. If the weather is threatening to cancel the parade, please listen to KRLS 92.1 or KCWN 99.9 FM
HAVE A GREAT TULIP TIME (May 2, 3, 4)
Tulip Time Opportunity for 5th & 6th Graders
The Pella Orchestra sponsors the Skate Pole in the afternoon Tulip Time parades by organizing students to rollerblade or rollerskate in the Tulip Time parade! 5th & 6th grade students are invited to skate on either Thursday Afternoon or Friday Afternoon and if you choose to participate it would be in place of marching with their school class (for 5th graders).
Students with some skating or rollerblading experience preferred!
If you're interested, please click here Tulip Time Skate Pole Sign Up for more details and to sign up. Check the tabs at the bottom to be sure that you sign up on the correct sheet.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Orchestra director at charlee.eekhoff@pellaschools.org
The last day of school for students due to snow days will be May 31. Students will be dismissed at 12:30 pm.
Jefferson/Middle School Construction Project
The weather this year has really helped the construction work on the new addition. The tentative plans are still to be finished by Christmas break next year. We are excited to see this project completed so that we can use the new facility.
