A Note from Mrs. Goldsworthy
Dear CSSE Families,
We’ve made our way through another cold week! Thank you for being flexible on our delay start days, and always having your kids ready and prepared to exit the car for drop off! It makes the process so smooth!
Two Buck Tuesday with Beanies, Blankets and Boots was a success, and lots of fun! Please make sure your kiddos are wearing proper clothes for the weather and within our dress code. Remember that boots are not permitted unless part of a specific dress up date.
$5 Free Dress Fridays have been a hit, raising almost $3,000 so far for our Safety Fund. We have already placed an order for window film and installed a couple of outdoor cameras to increase security. Thank you for participating!
We are expecting more inclement weather later this weekend. Please make sure to watch for Classtag notifications and the news.
Faith Forward,
Mrs. Goldsworthy
Holy Family Art Contest
All CSSE students are invited to participate in a Holy Family art contest! Use any 2D art medium to create the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph! Use your imagination and create them at prayer, at work, or at play! Entries may not be larger than 8.5x11" and must be two dimensional (drawing, painting, digital print, collage, etc - no sculptures). Your name and grade should be on the back. Turn in to Mrs. Whitmire by Monday, Jan. 22nd. Multiple winners will receive a gift card, and their art work will be used for something special during Catholic Schools Week Jan. 28-Feb. 3, 2024! Winning entries revealed Jan. 31st.
Applications and Upcoming Re-Enrollment
We have been receiving applications for the 2024-25 school year, and many grade levels have waitlists for new students. If you have not yet applied for any siblings who are not currently enrolled, do so immediately to take advantage of priority review. For students who will be returning in the fall, the Re-Enrollment link will be sent at the end of January. Families are asked to keep an eye on their email for the link and make sure that all lunch and tuition accounts are brought current ahead of re-enrollment time.
Raffle Update!
We are at $3,492 in total ticket sales with a goal of $8,000! As of today, the top seller has sold 50 tickets and the class with the most participation is Mrs. O'Donnell's class! Please consider selling at least one book per family to help us reach our fundraising goal. More books available upon request. Each student who sells two books will receive a keychain. The top student sellers will receive a gift card! 1st: $200 gift card, 2nd: $100 gift card, 3rd: $50 gift card. The top selling class will earn a pizza party! Turn in tickets to the school office by Jan. 31st.
We are still looking for sponsorships, and we have some great packages! Maybe you want to be a Groovy Gold or Studio 54 sponsor? Consider a Family sponsorship for $500 and you’ll get 4 tickets to the event and signage with your name or company logo!
Beacon Testing
Please make sure students arrive at school on time and avoid scheduling appointments during the school day from Jan. 17th-26th. We will be administering Beacon Testing to students in grades 3-8 during that block.
Catholic Schools Week is Coming!
Save the date for Catholic Schools Week - we will celebrate Jan. 28th through Feb. 3rd! We will have a weeklong service project in addition to dress up days, treats, and activities that help us celebrate the many parts of our school community that are integral to a complete Catholic education
The Catholic Schools Week (CSW) 2023 – 2026 theme is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.” Catholic schools have an irreplaceable role in the Church’s evangelizing mission. Building on the central goal of Catholic schools to form saints, Catholic schools teach and embrace the whole person, body, mind and spirit. The fact that all members of a Catholic school community share the Christian vision of faith that Christ is the foundation of Catholic education is what unites the school as a faith-filled community.
