Teachers and Staff were so appreciative of the good dinners and treats you provided as a community as well! We look forward to Thursdays goodies! If you are still interested in giving towards the conferences, please check out the following links.

2024 Indigenous Peoples' Day
October 14th is Indigenous Peoples' Day. It is a day that we support and honor Native American communities and acknowledge that they were here before many of our families. It is a time to celebrate and learn from Indigenous cultures and people. There are over 570 Native Nations in the U.S. Each Native Nation has their own language and culture, not all Native Americans are the same.
Minnesota is the homeland of the Dakota People, and our state name comes from a Dakota word Mnisota referring to clearwater. Dakota referred to this place as Mnisota Makoce- land of sky tinted water. Anishinaabe people also live in MN, and some of our place names come from Ojibwe language too. For example, the Mississippi River’s name comes from gichi-ziibii meaning Big River. Next Monday, students will learn about Ojibwe and Dakota people, and how we can see their language and culture reflected in this place we call home.
October 31: A Normal School Day
As was the case last year, we will have a normal school day on Thursday, Oct. 31st. Costumes are not allowed at school nor can students bring candy to school that week for snack, as it does not align to our district's Wellness Policy. Thank you for your cooperation!

PTO Fundraiser: Kick-off is TODAY!
Support Our School and Sell Chocolates or American-Made Products!
The Sand Creek Elementary PTO is kicking off our fall fundraiser, and we need your help to reach our goal of $20,000!
You can participate by selling World’s Finest Chocolate candy bars, available in $60 boxes at $2 a bar. To check out a box, simply fill out the form provided. Please note that once a box is checked out, it becomes the parent's responsibility to sell the entire box and submit payment of $60 per box to the school by October 25th, 2024. Additional boxes can only be checked out after payment for the first one is made.
Prefer to sell online? You can also support us by selling American-made products! Simply register online and share with friends and family nationwide. Items can be shipped directly to customers or to the school for easy pickup.
Parents are also welcome to make direct donations via PayPal, cash, or check. Your contribution directly supports our teachers, students, and school events.
View the materials that were sent home last Thursday and the video shared in class today.
Let’s make this fundraiser a sweet success!
