8th Grade Advanced ELA
Ms. Shreve’s advanced ELA classes did Dystopian Book Clubs, and at the completion of the book, students brought in a food item that symbolizes something from their novel. The students were so creative with their literary connections this year, and with their baking skills!
Special shout out to Areanna Johnson, who baked stained glass cookies to represent the glassblower’s son, a character from her novel The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron.
Dodgeball Tournament
Congratulations to our sixth grade dodgeball team “The Snail Slingers” who took home first place in the sixth grade bracket in the tri-middle school dodgeball tournament on March 28th sponsored by Bison Smart, Tiger Smart, and Falcon Smart. They had the opportunity to challenge the first place team from the combined 7th and 8th grade bracket, “B-Team Elite” from SLMS, and put up quite a fight.
In the 7th and 8th grade bracket, the ETMS team “Joe Dodgeball” took third and ETMS “6 Big Booms” took second.
Money raised in the dodgeball tournament event supports our Bison Smart program which helps keep kids drug, tobacco, and alcohol free.
