Panther PRIDE Update
Cimarron MS News - July 2024
AUGUST 23, 2024
Panther Families,
We successfully completed the first full week of school! Students are doing a great job settling in and learning procedures and expectations. I appreciate our teachers and all of their hard work in getting the school year started off so strongly.
Shout-out to our softball and volleyball teams who had very strong showings against Heartland and Central this week. Way to go, ladies! Football and cross country join in on the fun this next week as they get their seasons started.
A few procedures we are focusing heavily on include:
- ID Badges. ALL students should have their ID badge and lanyard now. It is a requirement that it is worn each day. Please help remind your child to have their ID with them at all times. With upcoming home athletic events this next week, students are required to wear their badge.
- Per board policy, cell phones must remain off during school hours. We are telling our students "off and out of sight". If you need to communicate with your child during the school day, please do so by calling the school office at (405)340-2935.
- Hats, hoodies, and other headwear should not be worn during school hours unless permitted for religious or medical reasons. Students may wear hoodies, but the hood should remain off their head. If students earn a hat day, or we have a schoolwide hat day, that will be communicated.
We appreciate your support in getting this school year off to a great start and look forward to partnering with you throughout the year!

Open House-August 26th
Beginning at 6:00 pm on Monday, August 26th, parents/guardians are invited to spend 10 minutes in each of your child’s classes. Our teachers will share the curriculum goals, skills objectives, and major themes we plan to cover throughout the year. See the image below for info regarding learning more about Title I on Open House night.
The time in each class period is short, there will not be an opportunity to ask questions regarding your student’s progress. Each of our teachers will share their planning period, phone number, and email. You may ask questions in a more personal setting during our Conference Nights.
A wonderful opportunity for lengthier discussions will be during our Conference Nights on October 10th or on October 14th from 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm.
Safety Reminder
Parents, please do not drop off students in the parking lot or on Bryant. The car line is very fast and the safest way for students to get to school. If you want to drop off in other places it is suggested that you drop off at the church on the corner or in the neighborhood. If your student walks to school make sure they use the crosswalks at all times. Bikes need to be walked once they are on campus for everyone's safety.
School Procedures Info
Click here, for info on school procedures for the first day of school. We will go over all of these procedures with students the first several days of school as well.

Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP)
All PK - 12th grade students will be issued a district device to use for learning this year. At times, PK - 5th grade students may be given the option to take their district-issued device home with them to use, but they will mostly use their device in the classroom. All 6th - 12th grade students will be required to take their devices home each day.
All devices have a case to prevent accidental damage, however, we strongly recommend that families purchase the Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) for each student. STPP will cost $10/year for all students in PK - 5th grade, and will cost $20/year for all students in 6th - 12th grades. Parents/Guardians will be financially responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged Chromebooks and/or iPads, as well as chargers and cases. This plan covers your student’s device at school and outside of school. You may pay for the STPP online via our InTouch payment system. If you have difficulties using the payment portal, these directions should be able to help. The last day to purchase this coverage is Friday, September 20, 2024.
