2nd Marking Period PRIDE Party is a Hit!
On Friday, January 20th, GMS students were rewarded for displaying Martian PRIDE during the 2nd quarter of school. Students participated in a party hosted by the staff. Activities included gym time, karaoke, BINGO, and board games. New activities included balloon crafts, slime-making, and corn hole! The students and staff both had a great time! We are proud of the good behaviors displayed by our GMS students!

GMS Music News
Congratulations to Laura Senish, who was chosen by the Statewide Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association to perform with the Middle School All State Band at the 13th annual Michigan Music Conference on Saturday January 21. She spent 2 days in rehearsal and performed an amazing concert at Devos Hall.
Laura was the only middle school or high school student chosen from Genesee County and one of four students to represent MSBOA District 3, which consists of over 60 schools. Students from all over Michigan submitted recorded auditions and were selected by an independent judge in a blind audition. Laura said she had an “amazing time” and that "it was great to play with so many talented musicians."
District 3 Honors Band
We had 5 students picked to perform at the MSBOA District 3 Honors Band at Brandon HS on January 28. Their hard work, practice, success, and leadership at MSBOA Solo & Ensemble Festival in December opened this door of opportunity to perform in the District 3 Honors Band. With only one day of rehearsal, their dedication and skill will be optimized for a great performance. Congratulations to:
- Jolie Brochu
- MacKenzie Melosh
- Laura Senish
- Renee LeBlanc
- Molly Powers

Students are able to visit the closet for items they need confidentially. Please talk to your child about Rachel's Closet and encourage them to see Mrs. Durant, Mrs. Lauinger, Ms. von Keltz or Mrs. Batterbee if they need anything.
