Welcome Back! Updates from U-32

Principal's Update
Dear U-32 Students, Families, and Caregivers,
The first three days of school were filled with laughter, reflection, time with friends, and reconnecting with TA. We chose to start this school year away from the actual school building as a way of reconnecting with the purpose of TA; to build connection, community, and a sense of belonging among young people and each other as well as the adults who support them.
Today, students were welcomed to school with cheers and bubbles from our faculty and staff and we celebrated the class of 2025 in the gym. Senior, Cal Boyd shared some welcoming remarks and set the tone for our school year. He ended his remarks by saying: “...the way to keep this community strong and to care for yourself and others, [is] by showing a little compassion to your fellow human beings.” He reminded students that we are a community of opportunity, resilience, and kindness.
We are also a community where the success of each individual is our collective responsibility. We spent the past few days building connections within TA so that those connections can deepen our learning, support us in times of struggle, and challenge us to seek our opportunities, be resilient, and connect with our kindness.
On Tuesday, we will end the day with an opening circle outside on the track as a way to see our entire school community together. Celebrate School Spirit on Tuesday by wearing blue and white.
We look forward to seeing you all, students, families, and caregivers, at Open House next Thursday, September 5th. Details can be found below.
Best,
Becca

7th Grade Meet your TA Night Recap
This was a great opportunity to set the stage of connection for the first day for the class of 2030. Families and caregivers who attended wrote letters to their future graduates, met each other, and shared their hopes for their students in their 7th grade year (see the word cloud below).
Student Parking Passes
All students who will be driving to school need to complete a parking pass request. If your student already has a parking sticker, they do not need to submit a new request, as their sticker will remain valid until they graduate.
Stage 32 Winter Musical Participation Sign Up
Hello U-32,
This year Stage 32, the High School Theater Program, is doing a joint musical with Montpelier High School (many of you know what this musical is but I'm not officially allowed to announce it until October 18. Don't worry, it's going to be amazing!). The Stage 32 winter musical is open to full time students in grades 9-12. Early college students are also eligible. Athletes, please get involved - we will work with your schedule.
If you are interested in being part of tech, costumes, or an actor, please fill out this form so that I can add you to an email list and send you the information you need. Even if you're on the fence, fill this out - it is not a commitment, it just shows interest.
- Our performance dates are January 23, 24, 25, 31, 30, and February 1.
- Tech and Costumes will start in mid September.
- Auditions are after October 18 - specific date TBD.
- Actors who wish to audition will have 2-3 meetings before the October auditions.
For questions, please come see me in the Theater Office (located past the events lobby bathrooms behind the theater) or send an email: egalliganbaldwin@u32.org.
Thanks so much and I hope you will be part of Stage 32!
