Superintendent's Message
Dear Tolleson ESD Families,
What an incredible start to the year! This first week back has been filled with joy and energy as our students dive into learning and reconnect with friends and teachers. Seeing the enthusiasm in our classrooms and around our schools reminds us of the limitless potential in every child. Thank you for your ongoing support in creating an environment where every student thrives.
I want to remind you to join us for Kinder Enrollment Nights at our schools this week! It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our programs and set your little ones on the path to success. We also encourage you to take a moment to fill out our communications survey to help us better serve you. Over the course of the next few months, I will be asking for your input as we implement new methods to continue building a strong community.
Be sure to check your inbox every Monday for the latest district updates, celebrations, and highlights from our classrooms and community events in our NEW district newsletter - and follow our district Facebook and Instagram accounts for daily content @TollesonESD.
Thank you for being a part of the Tolleson ESD family.
Warm regards,
Gisselle Herrera
Superintendent
Operation School Bell: Gearing Up For Success
This week, Operation School Bell made a special stop at Tolleson ESD schools to support our students as they gear up for the second half of the school year. Through this initiative, students received essentials - ensuring they are prepared for the quarter ahead!
We are incredibly grateful for the partnership and dedication of Operation School Bell and all who contributed to making this impactful event possible. Together, we are setting our students up for success!
Special thank you to Andrea Contreras (Family Engagement Coordinator) and Madeline Hernandez (Bilingual Social Worker and Coordinator of Student and Community Programs) for supporting all of our treasures and families throughout the school year!
🏆 Lady Aztecs Take the Championship!
Join us in celebrating the incredible Lady Aztecs from Porfirio H. Gonzales Elementary, who proudly clinched the District Championship! With an undefeated season, these young athletes displayed unmatched skill, determination, and teamwork, embodying the true spirit of excellence we cherish at Tolleson ESD. A huge congratulations to all the players, coaches, and supporters who contributed to this remarkable accomplishment. Your hard work and dedication continue to inspire our entire district!
⭐️ Tolleson ESD Students Making A Difference!
The Aztec Community Coalition and Tolleson Community Coalition recently teamed up to sell 50/50 raffle tickets, raising funds to provide scholarships for deserving Tolleson students. Thanks to the amazing turnout and generous support, this collaboration is opening doors for students to achieve their educational dreams while strengthening our community. A huge thank-you to everyone who contributed—you’re helping to build brighter futures, one student at a time!
No School: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
All Tolleson ESD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 21.
Our next weekly newsletter will be sent out upon our return on January 21st.
Academic Parent-Teacher Team (APTT) Meetings
Academic Parent-Teacher Team (APTT) meetings will be held the week of January 21st. Schools will send information to families on how to participate in these important meetings. Partnering with families is essential to ensuring student success, and we encourage all families to join us in this effort.
Thank you for your continued support in making Tolleson ESD a place where every child is capable of success—no exceptions!
