Stay Connected with PowerSchool!
The PowerSchool Parent Portal is a fantastic tool for Cedar Springs families with students in grades 6-12. It keeps you connected by providing quick access to important information like attendance, grades, assignments, school news, and messages from teachers—all in one place!
If you have more than one child in Cedar Springs schools, you can view all their information with a single login. Just remember to set up your account and link it to each child’s profile.
Currently, over 200 students do not have a linked parent/guardian in PowerSchool. Setting up this connection helps you stay updated on attendance, grades, and school communications.
Follow these instructions to set up your account.
Support for Students Struggling with Vape/Nicotine Addiction
Mr. Vanderlaan, our PBIS Interventionist, offers the INDEPTH Program (Intervention for Nicotine Dependence: Education, Prevention, Tobacco and Health) to students seeking help with nicotine dependence. This after-school program runs from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in his classroom and serves as a constructive alternative to suspension or citations for those facing school policy violations related to tobacco use.
The program includes four 50-minute sessions focusing on understanding tobacco use, including e-cigarettes, building healthy habits, and strategies for breaking free from nicotine. Students are encouraged to join voluntarily if they’d like support with nicotine intervention.
To sign up, students can contact Mr. Vanderlaan at joshua.vanderlaan@csredhawks.org.
1st Semester Exams Before Winter Break!
1st-semester exams will occur on December 17, 18, and 19, right before winter break. This schedule allows students and staff to enjoy their time off during the holidays. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Good luck to all our students as they prepare for exams!
Fall Play: One Stoplight Town
We’re excited to present One Stoplight Town by Tracy Wells as our fall play! This heartwarming and humorous story takes place in a tiny town you might drive through without noticing, but if you pause, you’ll discover a world of connection. From a young couple falling in love, to a grocery store owner grappling with change, to a family dealing with the push and pull of home, each character brings their unique charm and story to life. Packed with laughter, emotion, and the reminder that change comes for all of us, this play is a must-see!
Performances will be held on November 7, 8, and 9 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $10. Don’t miss out on this touching and memorable performance!

Steel for Steel Fundraiser Reminder: Let's Fill the Bin!
Since launching the recycling program at CSHS, we’ve recycled over 20,000 pounds of scrap metal and raised nearly $2,000! Our green bin in the northeast corner of the high school parking lot is almost full—let’s top it off!
If you have any scrap metal to donate, please drop it in the bin (remember: no trash, as non-metal items incur a charge for the school). Thank you for your continued support!
