Health Office Reminder
MEDICATION REMINDER
Any prescription AND non-prescription medication needed at school MUST be dropped off by an adult. Students are not allowed to carry medications in their backpack.
*If your child needs medication at school and it is a prescription medication, we are required to have a note from the Prescriber before giving the medication to your child.
**If your child has asthma, we need an updated asthma plan every year, and an inhaler needs to be delivered to school by an adult. If the Health Care Provider has allowed your child to carry and administer the inhaler on their own, it will need to be in writing and discussed with the health office.
FYI: We do keep acetaminophen (ex. Tylenol), ibuprofen (ex. Motrin) , Benadryl, TUMS/Rolaids, anti-itch cream, vaseline, and cough drops in the health office. If your child needs any of these medications, we can give it to them as long as you have given
permission on the yearly health form.
Over the counter medication that your child needs at school, which we do not supply (including eye drops), will require a medication permission form. Please contact the health office to discuss before sending anything in.THANK YOU for helping to keep our students safe!
Ryan's Story with John Halligan
Attention SATEC 5th-8th Grade Students & Families:
We are excited to welcome Mr. John Halligan on October 30th for a special student assembly focused on bullying and cyberbullying. This presentation aims to inspire students to make positive changes in their lives and foster a supportive school community.
Mr. Halligan will share his personal story about his son Ryan, who faced bullying. Our hope is that all students will leave feeling inspired, hopeful, and ready to make a difference by reflecting on their actions and promoting kindness both in school and online.
We encourage you to discuss this important topic with your family afterward. Our counseling team will be available during and after the assembly for any students who may need additional support.
If you have any questions or would prefer your child not to attend, please contact Sarah Biggie (5th and 6th grade) at sbiggie@maplerun.org or Amanda Giroux (7th and 8th grade) at agiroux@maplerun.org by October 25th.
