Gwinnett County Marching Band Exhibition
This month, on October 7th, Peachtree Ridge High School hosted one half of the annual Gwinnett County Marching Band Exhibition. We were honored to host over 3,000+ students, staff, families, and spectators alike here at the Ridge. GCPS TV stopped by to give our band director, Mrs. Briana Curtis, a student of ours, Vincent Tran and finally our Fine Arts Coordinator for the County, Mr. David DuBose, an interview pertaining to the event. In addition to the interview covering the event, it also touches on topics like what marching band is, why we like hosting events like this and what marching band means to people. Our student and parent volunteers were incredible in making this event a huge success and a great highlight for our band program as a whole.
Trunk or Treat Success
A big thank you to the Peachtree Ridge staff and students for making this year's Trunk or Treat a huge success. The school could not host such a large event with out the help of our community providing "trunks", candy, and student volunteers. Trunk or Treat really embodies the idea of One Ridge. Thank you for the community support.

GCPS AI Position: A Human-Centered Approach
AI is rapidly impacting the workforce, society, and even education. GCPS students and staff must be future-ready by understanding AI and demonstrating responsible and ethical use of AI. This guide is meant to communicate the principles we honor when making decisions around AI use and provide practical guidance and expectations. As AI evolves, the guidance around its use will as well. We believe that AI use should always include human oversight, including inquiry, reflection, insight, and empowerment. AI can be a useful tool to augment and enhance our work and learning, but humans must be in the loop regarding use and decision-making. We believe that an important element of future readiness for the GCPS community is to be responsible, ethical, and critical when leveraging AI tools.
Each newsletter will have more information about GCPS Human-Centered Approach to AI.
