Clear as a Bell
A PEAK Strategy
Clear as a Bell
Clear as a Bell is a strategy that can prompt students to process a lesson by having them surface important points during the lesson. As you are teaching, you can find appropriate breaking points during the lesson for students to stop and share what is Clear as a Bell to them & what needs to be remembered.
Where can I find it?
On page 201 in the Big PEAK Book, you will find this strategy. Be sure to read over the Quick PEAK to get an overview of how you could use it in your classroom!
How do I use this strategy?
Students meet in groups and record all of the information that they feel is clear and important from the lesson. The information is recorded on index cards using the exact same and complete sentences.
*Students then move around the room and exchange cards with other groups.
*Students then head back to their original group and share the card they collected.
*Students can then determine one point that may still be confusing, they can record it on the back of the card.
* Collect cards as a quick tool for you to use to determine what further clarification is needed.
