“A BEND IN THE ROAD IS NOT THE END OF THE ROAD…UNLESS YOU FAIL TO MAKE THE TURN.”
- Helen Keller
Message From Superintendent Mueller
Good Afternoon, CUSD,
Although the work was finalized last year, last night we had the public celebration of our Portrait of a Graduate strategic planning initiative. The final product, which the district will use for planning and resource allocation for the future, is a reflection of the voices of students, families, staff, alumni, community, and business members of our school community. We are proud of the work and will begin the strategic planning phase this spring.
Our Islander basketball teams (boys and girls) continue to fiercely battle their way through CIF playoffs. The boys face off against Point Loma at 7pm tonight (at PLHS), and the girls take on High Tech High North County tomorrow (Saturday) at 5pm at home. Come out and watch some great basketball and cheer on our talented student athletes! Let’s GO, Nado!
Wishing you a safe and relaxing weekend, enjoy the great weather!

As our educators, parents, and community come together to connect, challenge, and champion our students, we are humbled by the outpouring of compliments. What a positive testament to our CUSD family!
- Lindsey Cummins is such an amazing teacher and human. She supports her students, parents, and is such a light. She communicates so well, and is very helpful in collaborating strategies for my son with me and his team. She truly cares for all of her kids and has such a great attitude. I love the life she brings to learning, and the fun she puts into everything. Silver strand is so lucky to have her. Thank you for all you do!
- Heidi Frampton took time to teach all grade levels how to use Adobe Express with our students to help create interactive and engaging curriculum. Thank you for taking the time to teach us about this awesome software and giving us practical ideas for how to implement it in our classes!
