ABLAZE

December is one of my favorite times of year. I grew up making cookies, decorating the tree, dressing up like Rudolph or Santa, and dancing in the living room to Christmas music all day. It's such a joyous time in the midst of days getting darker sooner and weather getting colder (not as cold as Colorado though!)

And in the craziness of parties, shopping, and activities, let us remember and hold fast to the real reason for the season.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6-7 )

Let us be celebrate this season with knowing we have a good, powerful, eternal, and peaceful God reigning and standing with us in love, comfort, truth, and strength.

Connection Hour will be all about Christmas in December. We will meet on Sundays in the Youth Room from 9:30-10:30 am.

Here's the schedule:

December 1st: Christmas Story and Cookie Decorating

December 8th: Movie/Christmas Cards

December 15th: Caroling and bringing cookies to Fire Station

ABLAZE Wednesday nights will not be what they normally are in December. People are so busy and there's a lot going on at Zion! So youth can come and enjoy these events if they wish!

December 4th: Christmas Tree Lighting

December 11th: 3rd-8th Grade Christmas Program

December 18th: Pre-K-2nd Grade Christmas Program

Where: Meet at Zion gym and then we will be driving to Ice and Field at Crossover.
When: 1-5 pm
Who: 9th-12th graders
What: We will be meeting in the gym, going to ice skate, eat food, and doing our White Elephant gift exchange! (Your youth will also be getting their ABLAZE shirt if they ordered one earlier this year!)
What to bring: Bring warm clothes and a wrapped white elephant gift (gently used or under $10) for the party as well!

Every month, the Sr. High Youth help out with a church service! Whether it's greeting, ushering, or helping in the cafe, they have some part of the service!

The Sr. High Youth help out every 2nd week of the month.
